ok well i gt my puppy a while ago and i luv him to bits hes a king charles cavalier soo beautiful and at first before i brought im everything was discussed - how we were going 2 keep him but he came and afta a while my mum couldnt stand keeping him in the house. she couldnt take all the hair everywhere and the smell and well a lot of people we kno keep their dog outdoors and she tld me to train him so he would stay out. I tried my very best but he would cry and come and scratch at the window and jus wait there and never tire. And i kno this was evil and im jus like every dog owner but eventually we had to give him away, and my mum gave him to a friend, so tht for the holidays and stuff he could come bak. but my mums friend keeps him on a farm and altho he is with another dog (i liked that idea alot) he isnt always fed properly, never washed, gets tied up frequently and is also kept outdoors. the onli thing that satisfies me is that he has another dog so he isnt bored. My mum has agreed to let him come bak as long as he stays outside but im not sure whether to bring him bak, becos i kno he will be BORED outside, atleast on the farm he has another dog, but i will take SOOO much care of him if he is at my house. I feel soo guilty and sooo bad and plz plz think how difficult it is for me and tell me whether i should bring him and keep im outside in LUXURY or leave im there...Plz, i need solutions...x

Put an ad in the paper and screen each person who is interested. Once you have chosen a home make visits to make sure the dog is being treated well.
Is this dog fixed? If not do a spay/neuter contract if you need help with that let me know.
What to look for in a potential new home.
1. one that has time for the dog to train it indoors not to potty and to have manners.
2. one that has experience with the breed, although not necessary but its better.
3. Ask for references. Talk to people who they are friends with, if they have had a vet before talk to that vet.
4. Make a home visit before making a final decision. I would even shoot for 2 home visits...Possibly drive by unannounced.
5. Make home visits after placement. Explain your not being nosey you are just concerned and want to be certain. If they cannot understand that then bag it.
6. call the vet to make sure the dog is getting its shots and proper care.
7. Keep an open door if it doesnt work out.

I know its alot but this is a sure fire way to make sure your dog that you adore gets the best.
You or the farm can obviously not provide a perfect home for such a small dog. Small spaniels dont do well in the weather. They dont do well alone. They dont do well if they arent being brushed or groomed regularly. They thrive on attention and proper training.
