Today he made a turn for the better . He ate and finished one can of food, plus drank more water. We aren't getting are hopes up, but last night we were preparing ourselves to possibly say goodbye to him. Now, the vet is also amazed.

Renee, thank you sooo much for your suggestion about the Valium (((hugs))). I told my mom right away, and when we went to the vet today she asked about it. The vet agreed that was a good idea, and gave some to us to give to him.

The vet has asked us to watch him and then bring him in for another check-up on Wednesday to see how he's doing.My fingers are crossed.

Well, now things are looking up. I'm glad to hear that. I hope everything continues to improve. Poor little guy...

Yesterday and today he has amazed us by repeating some of his old normal behaviors. Yesterday morning my mom was thrilled to find him on her bed when she woke up, which he also did today His eating is still limited, but he's drinking and peeing alot, which is great because it's preventing the fluid from building up in his lungs again.

We have to force him to eat, which he hates, but we found if we mix some tuna in with the soft food, he likes it better. To actually get him to eat it though, we have to wipe it on his mouth which forces him to lick it off. But anyway we can get him to eat we will do it.

Renee- Again, my mom can't thank you enough for your suggestion!

This is just a giant rollercoaster.... Today he made another turn, but this time for the worst. He all around looks weaker, and has refused food all together. We had to physically force the food we liquified for him down...

I'll continue to keep you guys updated.

UPDATE:

He went in for a check up on Wednesday, and the vet was amazed. He told us that Silver was at death's door last Tuesday, and he didn't expect him to make it. He said we're doing an amazing job. Basically he's a little living miracle.

So now for the technical stuff. His lungs thankfully didn't refill with water His heart rate is still too high, so the vet doubled up on his heart medicine. He also removed his other medication that caused him to keep urinating, because he was losing potassium which in turn made his back legs weak. They also found a tumor on his right front leg, but they said they'll wait to remove it later since it isn't life-threatening. He's also been drinking, and eating.
