I have a 7 year old shih tzu. She hasnt been around many other dogs. Recently my daughter got a pup and my dog seemed to like to play with it when they came over. I thought this is super!!! We then bought a maltese shih tzu pup. This dog is a total love. The pup is now 7 months and they have played pretty much every day. Older dog has went after the pup and snapped at her if she comes close to her treat now and then. Tonight older dog laying across room. Pup is on hind legs playing with my hand as I sat in a chair. Older dog ran across room growling like she was gonna kill and grabbed the pup by her back and started shaking her. I made sure pup was ok then scolded the older dog. Why would she do this? What do I do to prevent this again? Can this be sheer jealousy? Please please help me I love them both dearly.
