My new rescue dog Delilha has slight kennel cough. Not too bad, getting better.
However I've noticed a slight red discharge from her nose. Is this normal with kennel cough??? Help!

If she has Kennel Cough at ALL - DO NOT take her for walks in the public, DO NOT take her to the pet stores..

for at least a month! Kennel Cough spreads like wild fire!

Get her to the vets asap - WARNING the vets before hand that she has Kennel Cough so any other dog that comes into that clinic does not have a potential chance of catching it!

We had a lady bring her BC to a show locally that was infected with Kennel Cough - guess what.. she infected over 9 other dogs that day!

Riot was a lucky one that DIDNT catch this!

Excellent advice, Summer, about how contagious kennel cough is. Get her to the vet as soon as you can.

One of the dogs at my training class turned out to have kennel cough. I skipped a class in addition to the one she missed with her dog. Thanks to the advise of another person on this board, even though she had her shot, I had to curtail my dog's activities for several weeks. Fortunately she did not catch it, but I had to look out for other dogs just in case. Do not mix your dog with another dog, not even casually, please.

Please get to the vet pronto.

Get to the vet ASAP, that is not normal discharge for kennel cough. I would be worried about pneumonia!

She's been to vets. It's low grade pneumonia. She's now on antibiotics and seems a lot better. Any helpful tips at all??

If the kennel cough continues you can go back to your vet. Poush had kennel cough when I rescued him. My vet gave him antibiotics and a cough suppresant, which helped a lot. The advice about keeping him away from other dogs is great advice, even though I was told that senior dogs are less susceptible to it (we have a 12yr old terrier/ old english sheepdog mix), I still kept them separated until roush's cough cleared up.
