Tammy never made a call... She was going on somebody else's word. Tammy did nothing. She showed up and took a dog.
Someone else made the call Yes, but obviously no one else was going to do anything, so the person took it upon themselves to call Tammy and she did what no one else did...SHE RESCUED DOOGIE....

You have got to be kidding me.

Someone broke the law to save a dog, so freakin' what? Did you watch those videos?? That dog couldn't even WALK.

You aren't in her situation, are you? You wouldn't know what it's like to see something like that. You cannot even tell me that you would let him sit there if you just happened to be walking by and saw him lying there in the dirt unable to move.

I have been there and done that. I broke into a person's chain link dog kennel, that housed 5 other dogs in that 10 foot area, to save my boy Coby. Does that make me a bad person? Hell no, I did what I could to save him, and the other 5 dogs that were getting fed only WEEKLY.

Anywho, the main reason I am posting now... This is a thread for her support. If you aren't giving supprt, get out. If you don't like to see what we are posting, oh well. Move on to the next thread. I am sure there are more threads for you to ruin.

You have no idea on whether or not the neighbor had an ongoing "fued" with the dog owner and exaggerated how long she had seen the dog laying there.

Tammy decided not to follow and legal avenues at all. She has damaged her cause. Not helped it.
And so what she took a dog away from IRRESPONSIBLE and NEGLECTFUL owners! Those owners did not give two $h!t$ about that dog and were willing to just let it lay there and die. I compare my dogs to my children, I would never let another dog or child suffer if I can do something about it... PERIOD!

I was thinking that same thing.. about my dogs being like children..

Could anyone just leave a CHILD suffering in someones yard? Could you really??
I know I couldn't! I don't care if it would be labeled 'kidnapping' There's NO WAY I'd leave a kid OR pet suffering!

Listen, I admit I am new here, so maybe I shouldn't stick my nose in this argument, but I am going to anyways. The law does not protect animals, it does protect slime balls who neglect them. Anybody can clearly see from the photos that following the system would have resulted in a dead dog who suffered a lot before he died. That dog was already close to death. Nobody with a heart could possibly think of the "law" first in this case. I once took a cat off the street. It's owner refused to neuter him, saying he was a Stud. Some kind of testosterone issue the guy had. I saw the cat get hit by a car and wobble away. I don't know how but he recovered enough to continue to spray everywhere and look for mates. One day, I coaxed that jerk's cat to me, brought him to my vet and had him fixed. I kept him in my basement stray room for three days and released him. I broke the law. Tough. I would have done the same thing as Tammy did and the law that protects the pigs who own that dog be damned. And there is no way I would be ashamed of it. "Bless the beasts and the children for in this world they have no voice, they have no CHOICE". That's where people with hearts like Tammy come in.
The problem is that we have some very stupid people that follow the letter of the law no matter what happens to the innocent victim like the dog in thiis case. Thankfully Tammy had more brains and guts that some of the people that are complaining that "she broke the law". The compainers try to hide their lack of moral character, guts, and compassion for a sufferring animal by stating, " But it's the law and I have to follow the law no matter who or what it hurts". Beyond stupid if you ask me!!!!!!

I hope if someone in my family ever needs help that the person there at the time jumps in an helps them without having to read through a lawbook first. In South Florida where I used to live, their were instances of young children being locked in cars in the summer in mall parking lots and people just walking by and not doing anything because they " didn't want to break the law and break the window out to rescue the children". I wonder how they felt when they found out that the children died? Oh, I know, they probably said to themselves....... ' Well I didn't break the law!!!!!!:(

Tammy had no idea if the authorities would have helped out. She had no confirmation regarding how long the dog was there. Tammy had no confirmation that any phone calls were placed. Tammy did not speak with the owners. She simply took the dog.

Our neighbors have a dog. He is old and has some serious arthritis problems. There are days where he has problems getting around. He also has some skin issues that they are recently dealing with. Their dog LOVES to lay on their backyard deck in the sun. Because of his bad arthritis, they no longer allow him to go up and down steps by himself - as he is in danger of falling. The deck is elevated - so they put a 20 foot leash on him to prevent him from getting over to the stairs and attempting to go down them. This dog is as loved and as well cared for as any pooch out there.

Now if I was a p1ssed off neighbor, I could call Tammy and tell her this dog is being neglected - it has been out there for days. Tammy shows up and sees the dog is leashed, it can't walk very well, and it has skin issues. Tammy takes the dog. It could happen.

Someone needs to explain to me how a person of Tammy's "stature" does not have solid contacts at the humane society. I can't believe that Tammy has been doing this for several years and she has not made a solid enough contact(s) at the humane society where she could have made a call and had someone out there ASAP. Why is that? I have no idea. Could it be that Tammy has cried wolf so many times to the Humane Society that they no longer want to deal with her? I don't know. I am asking.

You would think a woman like Tammy would be well connected with individuals at the Humane Society. If she is - why didn't she make a call and say "Hey listen, we have a very serious case here of neglect"... It really makes me wonder why that didn't happen???

So you would sacrifice your relationship with your actual children by spending time in jail away from them b ycommitting a crime... Nice.

Let's face it. No movement in this country that was ever successful began at the top. It is only at the grassroots that change can begin to occur. The wheels of the law pertaining to children and animal abuse just are rusty sometimes. It results in pain and death. Only actions such as this, which draw attention, will get the attention of law makers. If it weren't for the Tammy's of this world, women and people of color still wouldn't have the vote, and none of us would ever know what's in that canned food we buy at the supermarket either. 12 year old children would still be working in factories and wielding chain saws. I'm sure you can all think of many more examples of why grassroot action is necessary. It takes a coward to do nothing. It takes a brave person to address a problem head on.

And we would probably still have slavery and legal segregation in the US if people hadn't "broken the law" .

I happen to support the concept of civil disobedience, but I remain unconvinced that Tammy Grimes's actions come under that heading. I do not see this as a terrible failing in my morality; I have my personal views on how the insta-embrace of her actions illustrates others' failings in other areas. But at the moment, I'm most concerned with how vilely people on this thread have been treating each other, all the while jockeying for position in the Most Caring Individual Olympics. You can't cry in empathy for a hurt dog while you're busy screaming at another person that if they disagree with you, they're a rotten person who hates dogs and should just go away already, and ruin someone else's day.
