Dear Kind Soul,

SIMPLY PUT, WE NEED TO DO MORE FOR THE POOR AND HUNGRY. This is the reason for this “chain†letter. Here is how it works. Send a donation to one of the charities listed below or to any charity that you feel comfortable with(I am not associated with these charities). You can also make an online donation. Then, give a copy of this letter to as many people as possible. E-mail it, hand it out, leave copies in public places.

WHY AM I DOING THIS? Not long ago, my 55 year old brother died suddenly. The loss of my brother made me think about my life. I contemplated whether or not I would be satisfied with how I lived my life if I knew I had days to live? The answer was no. People say that I’m a good guy, a good father and a good husband but I feel like I haven’t done enough to make a difference in the world. Once in a while I would give a small donation to a charity but with all the suffering in the world, I could do more. I have been too preoccupied with my own wants and desires. I craved the newest technical gadget or a bigger TV or a more exciting car while I turned a blind eye to enormous number of people that need help. I need to do a better job of being God’s faithful servant.

The world is troubled and darkness covers much of the world. Many people in power have let us down. So what can we do about it? We can do a lot with our time and money. You can never underestimate the power of the human spirit. If enough good people band together and decide to become heroes, we can send such a wave of love, hope and help to those in need that we can drive out much of the darkness in the world. Our effort will help heal and uplift lives. It is my wish that this letter is so successful that it will garner national attention and people from all over will know that there are still many good people in the world and that if enough good people with good ideas step up and help, the world can be transformed into a much better place to live. Will you help?

Signed,
One of God’s Faithful Servants

I am not gods servant (!!!), however, I agree we have many people living below the poverty line (here in the UK).

Unfortunately I am broke, but I fully intend to do my bit when I am finally earning pennies.

I lend through Kiva.org because the money goes towards helping those who banks won't lend to. The money makes a difference long term in their lives so they have a chance to support themselves, otherwise it's an endless need for assistance.
