Hi all. I've been absent for a while. I started a new job, and it's been nutty. I'm finally well-paid, and the benefits are amazing, and I like it. Not in love with it, but like it.

Here's the problem: I just found out that they experiment on dogs.

Not only do they do surgeries on them for "practice," but they do them downstairs. I can hear them barking occasionally, and it troubles me to no end. I've only been there a week, and I don't know what to do. The whole story is posted below.

I need advice, badly. Thanks.

Well what kind of job is it? Vet students do surgeries on dogs all the time for practice. The client has to sign a waiver that says the student isn't liable for a mess up.

The article says, at the end, "Practicing one time on a dog is not going to help you save someone's life," he said. So, I'm assuming that means they are practicing on a dog in order to understand the heart and what the chemicals will do in relation to a future human patient.
And there isn't anything about a waiver for a "mess up". They deliberately KILL these dogs once they are done looking and testing on them.

That's one that only you can decide . . . I couldn't do it - well, maybe I could stay long enough to find a way to cause them an infinite amount of trouble - but I've always been a troublemaker ;)

How do you feel when you come home and look at Barley at the end of the day?

I couldn't do it....The advice I would be asking "Hey guys should I burn this place to the ground or not?"

You have a very tough choice, good luck.

PS Glad to see you come back to CH

Well, if I had no other choice...I would only stay long enough to find another job, Once I knew I was leaving trouble would begin.

Now, if I didn't really need that job...I would be escorted out the door by security.

Either way...all dogs would be set free, taken to a safe place, and it would be on the news.

I cant really see any reason that we humans are more important in the grand scheme of things than any other organism. In all honesty I would rather see an elk herd than a large group of people. I dont like the idea of us manipulating other organisms to give their lives for ours. I dont think that the world needs more humans. I think it needs a death rate on par with the rest of nature.

The real question is....how can you stay there? No amount of money or benefits would keep me in a place that does things like that to a dog...or any animal.
If it's bothering you now, it isn't going to get any better. :(

But her leaving isn't going to change anything. She'll lose out on the job and they'll just keep on keeping on and hire someone who's not against it.

You have to decide which you need most, the money, or your morality.

Morality would win with me, every time...hands down...no questions asked. It would be like selling my soul to the devil for money to turn my back and continue working somewhere where I knew they were doing something I felt was very wrong. No, she can't change it but being there and ignoring it is kind of like condoning it, isn't it? JMO.
