So, essentially, we saw this little guy by himself with no tags on the side of the street a few days ago. He was in a pretty busy area so we jumped out and got him safe. We took him down to the vet and they scanned his chip and gave us the owner's phone number. I call the number, a lady proceeds to tell me that they had "given the dog to a friend because their grandchildren were not behaving". She was unable to give me any information as to who the new apparent owners were and even went as far as to ask me if we wanted to "just keep him".
Now, obviously I'm just assuming, but it seems like they went and let him go some where without any tags on in hopes he would be taken. Although I'm still attempting to find out whether he has any owners, I've taken it upon myself to give this well-mannered little guy a loving home. Now comes the curiosities...
I am completely uncertain what his breed is. He has brown, rough hair and he's small. I'm also curious about his approximate age. And lastly, he has what I can only presume to be ear mites, but it seems he has a scab on the inner part of his ear flap, and he yelps any time it's touched and some times even when it isn't. We will be taking him to the vet within the week, but I just wanted to see if I couldn't get some assistance in the mean time?
I'm not sure why it's getting turned when I upload it, but the picture is flipped on my computer. Anyways, sorry for the low quality picture. I can get some more if needed.
