Do you play with him roughly?

Will he be s/n?

Could you please use spell check?

Are you in highschool? College? Is this the start of your summer break and your bored?

Check out the teaining section of this board. There are a lot of threads on there that will answer most questions you have. If you don't see something, do a search, if you still can't find it, make a new thread.

Try not to get defensive over some of the replies. People on this borad mean well, just over the internet you can't hear the tone of voice/read facial expressions. Everyone who replied to your post wants to help. I don't think they were trying to be rude. We have lots and lots of people here who have years of training and breeding/puppy raising experience. They can help you solve your puppy's problems in a positive way.

PS- We would like to see pictures of your little guy :)

This advice is wrong. There is no need for it. If you have good advice on how to HELP my puppy learn then I'm all ears. After all, that is what I asked for isn't it?
Why ask for advice, only to reply that the advice you're given is wrong. If all the advice is so wrong, then you must obviously know what you are doing and how to fix it. So again, why ask if everyone is wrong?

Why do YOU think he has this problem? Enlighten me, please. If it isnt because he didnt have enough time with his litter mates, and because that Couldnt POSSIBLY be the cause of his, puppyy rudness, because, lets face it, taking puppies away from there littermate to early is not bad at all, and couldnt possibly cause issues.. Then why do YOU think he does this?

Nobody was critisizing YOU. Simply Critisizing the irresponsible breeder who is responsible for your puppies playing issues. So i dont see why you would be offended. Unless of course, you are his breeder.?

This is to everyone who is trying to prove themselves right.
I asked for ADVICE and HELP with my puppy. not EXCUSES as to why this is happening or CRITISICM as to what i did or didn't do right at the start.

So now that its clarified, PLEASE EITHER DO AS THE THREAD ASKS OR GO AWAY.
I am seeking advice, nothing else.

Ahem. I willnow be a parrot, And repeat what was already said.

The reason your puppy is doing this is indeed beccause he didnt have enough time with his litter mates and mother. Therefore he couldnt be taught bite inhibition. THEREFORE. It is up to you to TEACH it to him. OR let the play continue and let other dogs correct him.. Sheesh.

And, Now that i have given this advice to you AGAIN (After other members already saying it) I would now like to ask YOU to go away.

Thank you:D

Look, you have your own opinion about what age they should be taken. I personally think six weeks is ok. They dont just learn things from their litter mates.
If anything the mother was trying to get rid of them coz they kept suckling her.
They learn things from every dog around them. My partner has a dog two years older and he is a big inflence in my puppys life.
I dont see any problem with taking them at 6 weeks so you cant really say 'theres a reason why pups should not leave their mom and letter mates until 8 weeks'. because it is a completely false assumption.
Hey.. fellow breeder here. In many places it is ILLEGAL (yup, as in against the law) to sell a pup that young. It may be your opinion but its not shared by people in the dog world. Not by breeders, trainers, behaviourists....

The problem that you are having is one of the reasons that many good breeders will keep the pups together with interaction with mom (of course mom is not nursing them.. ) till 12-14 weeks. I personally like 8-10 weeks. Pups learn so much about self control and bite inhibition during those weeks that you don't think are important. YES it can be done.. but there is no way you can spend the hours upon hours a day teaching the same things that the littermates and mom would teach.

lol you really need to go away. I think your Playstation is calling out to you :)
Seriosly? Is there no summer sprts program or something you could join? To keep your mind occupied during the summer months before 9th grade starts in september? Coming onto A Dog forum and insulting Long time and RESPECTED members is not a nice past time. Especially for a teenager. You want to play dirty, Well hunny, I can go that route too :D

They're right about 6 weeks being too early, but it's done so now you've got to deal with the consequences and try to teach your puppy what he would have NATURALLY learned if he'd been left with littermates for the proper amount of time, and he really does need to learn before he runs into a dog at the dog park -- or somewhere else -- that isn't as tolerant as the ones he's met so far.

Holy carp guys.

First off, to the poster, welcome :). The rough issue is IMO, a problem that stemmed from taking him away from his littermates too early. And although he missed a bit of time with his parents and siblings, there are several things you can do to try and replicate what he missed out on. I am not going to go into detail as people have already posted about it. The thing about a public forum is that everyone will post their own opinion. Take what you can out of the posts and ignore the rude bits. Getting defensive simply fuels the fire lol. Anywho, best of luck with your puppy, and pictures would be appreciated!

To chazzer’s, why are you letting a few rude posts irritate you? If someone isn’t going to take your advice, chill, leave. It’s their loss. Getting childish and rude is only going aggravate them more.

Babymomma, several of your questions aren’t even relevant to this thread.

“Will he be s/n?

Are you in highschool? College? Is this the start of your summer break and your bored?

Sorry, just a few questions. Im sure you wont mind answering.â€

Why do you want to know if he will be spayed or neutered? How does that relate to his rough behaviour? The second question is just plain rude. And in regards to your spell check question, I don’t think the poster’s spelling is that bad. And perhaps YOU should use it, as you spelt a few things wrong too.

Do you want to explain why you are asking those questions?

I get the feeling some people came into this thread to start a fight. Sure, the person was rude. But cmon, cant we be mature and just walk away? I love Chaz... But I don't like seeing this :(

Wow, missed this post.

You know what's not a nice past time either? Aggravating people. The person is being rude to you, yes. So leave.

For someone accusing another of acting like a teenager (which btw is insulting because I am one), you are acting incredibly immature.

I'll offer two bits of advice, since most of the other things that need saying have already been said.

#1: I would not have a puppy that young running around at public dog parks. His immunity is not up to par yet, and many public dog parks (I'd say all, but someone here will disagree with me) are full of people who do not know dogs well, do not manage their own dogs well, and can not read dog body language well enough to intercept a major catastrophe before it starts. A 12 week old puppy in the middle of a large fight is not going to fare well, and is going to have his confidence in dogs badly shaken by a bad experience. I'd find suitable playmates who you know are up to date on their vaccinations/titers and do very small play groups in a controlled environment.

#2: Watch him like a hawk for the next month or so. Speaking as the owner of a dog who will tolerate pretty much any pushy, rude behavior from a young puppy, he is hitting the age where his "puppy priviledges" are about to be revoked. Many dogs will tolerate that behavior in a young puppy, the same way we will tolerate very young children being rude or inappropriate; once they are "teenagers", the rules change, and you can expect adult dogs to start correcting his rudeness. Some will do it very appropriately, and he may learn from it. Some will be too harsh. It's around 4 months that I've seen this change in a lot of dogs.
