I know Pitt bulls and staffodshires have a bad name but i dont believe in it. I am 13 and hve just resentley dog satt my neighbors Staffy and Lab X. The Staffy "Sable" Is the friendliest dog i've ever met. I now am thinking about considering to get one when im older.
I know have a maltipoo who i love with all my heart hes in my pic. Sable is extremely friendly to people. She has all the reason to be mean to. When she was young she lived in a small house with many teenagers who all thought it would be "cool" and would impress the girls if they had a tough dog so they got Sable. She was neglected and even physichally abused. One of the girls who lived in the house realized what was happening and took the dog and left. Now her and the dog are still together.
Sable has once when I was over and sable pinned someone down on the floor (the girl was lying on the floor and sable came over and pinned her down by putting her two front paws on her chest) and then sabe began to kiss her over and over licking her and licking her all over her face the girl who was pinned started laughing and then Sable kissed inside her mouth and all over her face untill the pinned down girl thought it wasn't funny anymore. Me and the girl I was with thought it was the funniest thing the pinned girl was a big girl and Sable had her pinned and was completely smothering her with kisses. So now know that if you say "is the dog friendly?" or "does it bite?" when you are told "no she/he might just kiss/ lick you to death" remember this story and run! ;)
I think Pitt bulls and staffys just get the bad name becase
One : it hurts alot more if one bits you then a anyother dog Im sure chihauhas and jack russels bite just as much if not more then pitt bulls they just dont do as much damage so you dont hear big storeys about it.

Two: Peple want a big scary dog so they think Pit Bull. SO they get this dog and dont socilize it or anything because they want it to be big and tough and scary.

I own several pitbulls/amstaffs. They are very friendly to humans, including children and elderly people. If they are not properly socialized with other dogs they can become dog aggressive because they have this so called "dominance" trait. Love, Care, and proper socialization will give you the most wonderful pet you could ever have.

Agreed

Sable is an unbelievable dog she had all the right to be people and dog aggressive been brought up so wrong and it shows what a great dog she is by her being so friendly. And towards dog she doesn't love them she gets along great with the lab that she now lives with but besides that she doesn't love them as long as she has her stick she completely ignores them and is quite content. But if they do try to take her stick she will snap. My maltipoo will snap if a dog gets in his face to but he is so little it is just laughed off by anyone. But if sable snaps people arn't so fine with it just because of jer breed. But over all she is fine with dogs.

That is good to know. Thats a plus for the breeds reputation. I guess you're quite a responsible owner! I salute you! Happy New Year!

I have a friend that's a breeder and has a big AKC/UKC kennel with about 40 Pit Bulls and I visited them and they were all friendly. My friend, like many breeders, tolerates absoutely no human aggression and will not breed or breed to any dog that has an unstable disposition with humans. I've gotten two Pit Bulls from her (you can see them here www.crystalrainkennels.com) and they are both very human friendly.

Oh if you're interested I know of a positive Pit Bull & Staffy Bull magazine called Fully Bully. www.fullybully.com I'm thinking of advertising the bully breed t-shirts I sell in there as it has, last time I checked, 1,500 suscribers.

Bad Rep Good Dogs

Thank you for all your postive feed back. I am glad you all agree with me. My dad still doesn't trust Sable and says that I should be very careful with her because of her breed. Though she has never done anything since she stopped getting miss treated and deserves his trust. I think she is slowly gaining on him. Im going to go look at you doggies now evenstar :) I bet there cute.

I was thinking of investing in having some nice designs done here in Ontario for pit bull lovers...T Shirts with pitties are always popular....!

Plus, DLCC needs more funds which I would happily contribute to if I could start something up..anyone know a T Shirt wholesaler? lol
