So late last night I got a text from my neighbor. She had come home with a 5-month old Pit puppy from a recently homeless person. They gave up everything they had for her as well. Hubby and I went over to look at her and couldn't leave here there (she would have had to stay outside). She was much healthier looking than I expected.

She is already registered with the city, had all her shots, and now has a spay appointment on the 28th! I never thought I would keep a Pit before (not breed hesitation, just not my 'type' of dog) but she is awfully cute!

Very sweet face. Just some advice....don't let her sleep with you because once she snuggles in with you....you will be a foster failure :rofl1: (as in adopting her for keeps).

Pitties have a special charm about them.

She was great about the crate last night, but as soon as I sit down on the floor she crawls into my lap and just lays there... I've been a foster failure before with other animals but do my best!! My husband doesn't even like Pits but he has already dubbed her "sickeningly cute!" There does seem to be something a little different about her.

By the time her spay appointment comes around, I will likely be too attached to her, but we'll see! 3 is my absolute maximum for where I live (my yard is nice and big, but my house is small). Here she is in my lap - I have major major shedders so it was nice to not be left in a blanket of hair after I had to let her down.

You will be amazed at how young she keeps your other dogs :) Bimmer, thanks to Tallulah, is 11 -- going on 3 :D Kharma. Yes, KHARMA, plays TUG with her *faints*

Your little "foster" looks like she's going to grow up to be a truly good looking APBT and her eyes radiate intelligence.

If you don't want her, I'll have her.
It's not that I don't want her! :p I'd love to keep her, but I do foster for a Basset rescue and won't be able to continue if I go up to three dogs as permanent residents. We will see though, because I know the scents of new dogs stress my chinchillas out for the first couple days - so three permanent dogs would mean less stress on them.

I agree, Sal has really sparked up. He runs around like he is a 1yr old. At least when they play.

My Basset mix Roscoe is usually pretty droopy but when he perks up it is adorable. He hasn't played with Burt inside in a few months but when she got here he was more ready to play than she was!

They were calling her ChiChi... which I won't be keeping. "Belle" keeps going through my head but I like to give it a few days before I make up my mind on names.

She's got lovely markings. I think she'll really tug on your heartstrings.

Aw...she's such a pretty girl. I just bet she's going to win your heart over and have a permanent home.

Haha, your story sounds so familiar. We had 2 dogs, decided to foster a third, and keep fostering...then we failed. She's now our dog. I was also saying that if we kept her it would be the end of fostering for us. Which it has been, more so that we get too attached. I've been sticking with transport and only fostering for a few days until new foster home is ready.

Goooood luck! hehehe!

She's too adorable, I love her white tip tail.
