Pig Ears?

Are pig ears bad? I have a friend who is really into research and educating herself on the raw diet. She took a seminar on Francis M. Pottenger, Jr. and his theories. She told me that pig ears are bad. That they essentially fill a dogs heart with grease. Does anyone know this to be true?

They are hard for many dogs to digest:

Hi: The person is somewhat correct on this one.
Pigs ears have high protein and fat content. Very hard for many dogs to digest. Many dogs also get diarrhea and loose poops. Pigs ears and other things like it, can cause Pancreatitis.

( just too much fat to have every day) A few a month won't hurt anyone.
Some people feed them everday or every other.

So, my answer is .... don't give too many of them.

Get cow ears instead. Less grease: better for your dog and the carpet.
