Wow, that's a great looking pup! There is nothing as cute as a baby GSD that's still growing into his paws and ears! ;)

Thanks all :). He's grown alot since, is 6 months old now.

I know he's not show dog quality at all, some of the snobbier GSD folks snub him and ask me if he's really a pure bred; he's still a cutie pie :) .

Yeah they do! I posted these for renee since she says she loves GSD puppies :). So many cute puppies made me want to share too. I think pits are the most popular in this forum though.

He's technically still a puppy but he's all lanky teen now. Here he is at 5 months. Very leggy, he looks like a little gazelle when he runs.

Oh he's turning into a gorgeous boy now. Has he started to go through that stage where you wonder if he has a brain yet? When they hit puberty their brains just fall out  You love 'em, and they're soooo funny, but sometimes you wonder if you've ended up with the world's dumbest dog ever, lol!

Keep those photos coming!

I think he's gorgeous and so alert looking. I tell you what. I had a few GSDs who were "pet quality" and not show, but never had any problem with hips or back...were very healthy and could move like nobody's business. They weren't so extremely angulated. My last one came from very good lines...Dutch, German and American and from a reputable breeder from Holland who lived here. She was talked about in a book I read. This was about 24 years ago.

Anyway, your pup is adorable and I bet he'll turn out to be a great companion for you. I love GSDs.

I think he's a great looking dog, don't listen to the 'show snobs'! Honestly you couldn't pay me to own the highly bred American show GSDs, I prefer the more square-hipped German working lines that haven't had the brains bred out of them, you know? The American vs German or show vs working line issues can be touchy with GSD people.....but anyway, I think you've got a really handsome pup!

german for me too..i saw one at the vet's office that came from Germany and oh my but just wow was that a dog! Big too! I cant' ever get use to the slopping hind quarters tho, i know it is suppose to be that way but seems wrong when you are use to boxy labradors and goldens.

The German show lines aren't quite as bad as American lines for the slanted backs, but all the showlines carry that to a degree. My preferred bloodlines are the German working lines, straighter backs, stronger nerves, and still full of that GSD charm. :D

Hey I just copied and pasyed this from your post ealrier. Yea I know what you mean. There's a website for nothing but GSd owners and lovers, and if you don't have a purebred GSd than you better leave that site. I was thinking about getting a GSD but some of those people where mean and they made me not want to get one less and less. But they are still one of my top 5 favorite breeds!!! Your GSD are adorable.

That is a beautiful dog..

And Dakotah, you came on the GSD board, said you were getting a GSD then said you were getting rid of your current 8 month old pup and then we got worried then you gave us a good reason and said you were waiting for two years to get a GSD and we said ok thats great and now you come here and obviously you now have a new dog but you'll still getting rid of your Aussie.

Basically, we at the GSD board are confused and thats it. We are not snobby and many people on that board don't have purebred GSDs. We have never told them to go away.

Please don't bash us, thats just not right.

Caitlin took the words out of my mouth. There's a difference in being 'mean' and offering realistic advice.
