Hello! I'm a newbie here! I'm really enjoying the site and want to share some pics of my girl. She is a 2-yr-old Newfoundland named Ebony. Hubby and I got her when she was 8 weeks old from a newspaper ad...from a couple who wanted to breed their two Newfs to see if they could get a Landseer. Ebony is AKC registered but let's just say I have learned a lot about Newfs and responsible breeding since she came home. Physically she doesn't fit the breed standard very well, but the standard also says that "Sweetness of temperament is the hallmark of the Newfoundland; this is the most important single characteristic of the breed." And Ebony exemplifies "sweetness" to the max! I love my puppy-newf! Anyway enough rambling...here she is...

Love her, drool and all!

And maybe a few more....

First, Hi and Welcome to Chaz! Glad to have you!
She is gorgeous! I love the black Newfies.

I am glad you have learned about what goes into a responsible breeding, though :)

More pictures are always welcomed!

Thanks for all the comments!

Oh my, have I! Before Ebony took over my life I had no clue there were such things as health clearances, CERF, OFA, PennHip, Cardiac checks. I have learned a lot! And I am so glad I did before I got Newfie #2. We are currently on a waiting list for another Newf from a breeder that I researched and I've talked to people who have dogs from this kennel and I can see this breeder's dogs and offspring on the OFA website so I know she's taking the steps necessary to produce healthy pups. I just never knew all this before and I have great respect for those that take the time to do it responsibly! It's nice to find a forum that advocates responsible breeding.

I love the shots of her with her cats. I have three cats as well. In fact, my Mojo looks a lot like your Grey Ghost.

awww she's gorgeous. Looks a lot like my mav. We got him from the SPCA but I don't think he's purebred. They are so special :)
