This is my girl Sissy, aka Pretty Girl, Chu Noir, Phoenix.
She is a 3 1/2 year old 'mutt'. Her mother was a pekingese mix and her dad was a chow mix with short wirey fur. She has short/medium smooth fur.

She is a charming girl, she loves kids. She's so muscular and fairly wide for her size (she weighs maybe 10lbs, if that, her son weighs 30lbs, yikes!) but she's fast, she'll take off like a bat out of hell if you let her. She's a mouser too, she'll catch mice and rats, not always 100% success but she's definitely a threat to the rodent population should they get inside. So I can't get a pet rat like I'd always wanted while I have her, or any rodent for that matter.

But she's fairly lazy, I can't get her to play with anything to save my life. Not even the cat toy fake mice. I'd love some enrichment ideas so I can give her something to look forward to other than walks. She doesn't get destructive when she's bored, thank god, she just sleeps.

She's definitely cute. I was wondering if she had been bred since she kinda looked like she had been. You just clarified that in your last post. Is she spayed now? I'd recommend getting her spayed. Are you breeding your dogs on purpose or was this an "accidental" breeding? Just curious. Look forward to seeing more pics of her.

Thanks guys! I'll try to get more pics of her, although it was a little tricky to get her to pose for most of them. The last one was an accidental shot and I didn't notice her tounge sticking out until after I took it and I kept it because it was just too cute!

And yeah Skittle, it was an accidental breeding with the neighbor's dog. I'd kept her away from males but then my mom's ex boyfriend's nephew just opened the door and let her out and she ended up getting pregnant... twice... believe me, he ended up paying for her special 'mommy' food both times too. He wasn't happy about it, but it was his fault for purposely letting her out without a leash, which I take her out on a leash anyway regardless. Although, Jayden has grown up to be a nice, handsome boy. I'll have to see if my cousin can bring him over so I can take pictures of him too and get a couple with him and his mom together. (I'm currently at my other aunt's house right now. She had a little accident Monday night and ended up having to get stitches in her head, she just needs help getting up because she's sore)

She's not spayed yet, but I've been keeping her away from the boys. I had the money to get her spayed but then she went into heat RIGHT afterwards and the vets around here absolutely will NOT spay them while they're in heat, so I ended up having to spend that money on more diapers so she wouldn't bleed everywhere. She may or may not be pregnant now though. At the beginning of the month, she got hooked with a male my cousin's friend brought in the house when she stayed with us for a week because they weren't paying attention when I had to go to the store (couldn't bring her ride) and when I got back they were tied, but I think he got to her too late or she didn't take because he kept trying to get at her. So I ended up having to alternate locking one in the room and one out. But she'd already gone almost three weeks in heat and she continued on her full cycle and would let him near her when he showed interest. The last two times she got pregnant, it was only a couple of days after she got bred that she wouldn't let the male near her again and she'd stop bleeding within a day or so after that and he'd lose interest, and this time she bled for almost 6 more days. So hopefully she didn't take. I do plan on getting her spayed as soon as I can afford it... and that she doesn't go into heat right when I get the money again either, yeah, the vets around here are fairly expensive and with it being hard-pressed for work in town now, money is a little tight for now. So until then, I'll just have to keep her separated from the boys.

Sorry for the novel lol

But I'm off to bed for now. I'll be back on soon, good night everyone.

Inuneko, I don't know where out there in the world you are, but check and see if there is some sort of low cost spay/neuter program or help.

I don't want your picture thread to turn into a big scold about irresponsible breeding. I'd imagine, since you've been a member since 2007, that you've seen those. Even without the problem of so many unwanted puppies, it's not healthy for your dog to have litter after litter.

But . . . 'nuff said here. She is darling.

I'm in Port Barre, Louisiana. It's about 50-60 miles north of Lafayette. I'll look into the discount clinics and bring her when things settle down here and my aunt is capable of making the drive anywhere, my other one works too much (I don't have a license yet). There are no free clinics around here, when I asked our last dog catcher, she laughed at me and said "Where do you think we are, Houston?" Yeah, she got in trouble for laughing in my face though. Glad she got fired too, she was a you-know-what. I'm not sure why she got fired, but I think it had something to do with her placing livetraps to catch strays or dogs that weren't chained or kept in the house. But she was putting down traps only large enough to catch maybe smaller medium-sized dogs when there were dogs MUCH larger than that running around, and she was putting traps on people's property without their permission and ended up catching people's dogs on their property and made them pay the fine to get them out of the pound.
