Update:
It's not official yet, but Steve has gone from "I'm leaning towards yes" to "Okay, let's do it. Let's keep him!" ... but no decision has been made yet because we need to see how the next few weeks goes.
Since this has become a "foster to adopt" situation, I'm calling him the name we agreed on - which is Haji. (pronounced "Hodgey" - it's an obscure anime reference.)
Doing a LOT of crate zen. I work from home, so dogs need to be silent in their crates. He's actually pretty good - settles in well, tucks himself in, and stays quiet.
He's a rockstar for his nails. Just put him on the grooming table and ground those suckers down!
For all his fault/quirks, he really does seem to be a good dog. We just need to work on his tendency to get overstimulated in public. That bully scream is just awful!
He's also iffy with cats, but I've rehabbed cat-iffy dogs before so I don't see it being a deal breaker. He's nowhere near as bad as Ronin was. He's rude with the girls, but he's young/recently neutered/untrained/new to the house.
