Phoning your dog(s)...

Howdy folks!!! My secretary generates a smile upon yours truly when she communicates with her dogs via the telephone answering machine. Do any of you do such as well?

I did that once, and when I came home, the answering machine was ripped from the wall and found down the hallway. I guess Charlie was trying to get me out of it!! LOL!

I did that once to see what would happen too, but Lucas probably just stood and stared at the phone wagging his butt. Then I thought it would be mean to trick him into thinking I was home when I wasn't. lol

I hadn't actually intended to call the dog. My electricity was out so I went to a friend's house for a little bit and then I called home to see if my machine would pick up, so I would know if the power was back on. When the machine picked up I figured Charlie would be standing there staring at it, as he always does when that little voice comes on, so I said "How's my goood boooyy....How's my Charlie boy? Are you bein a goood dooog?" etc, etc. That was the end of that answering machine!

haha. i never called Milo, but sometimes when i'm talking to people on the phone i hold it out and make them talk to him, which usually makes him lick the phone and wag his butt like crazy

We don't have an answering machine- we have voice mail. But, when I'm out of town, my husband will put the phone on speaker and I'll talk to Zoe. He says she wags her tail and looks a bit confused!

Oh, YES I do this! When I'm away and Hunter is at my Mom's, everytime I call to check in, Hunter already knows it's me on the phone! He comes up and wants to talk to ME! We'll do our little conversation and he smiles then walks off wagging when he's had enough. The dog-eating-answering-machine, though... :lol-sign:

Sometimes Buddy talks back.

Bimmer has called my mother on my cell phone . . . . twice. I don't have her on speed dial, and she hadn't been the last incoming or outgoing call either time. We're still trying to figure that one out

I've never called the answering machine, but one night when my mother was taking care of Wally she held the phone up to his ear while I said hello . . . he immediately ran to the door thinking I was outside and was prancing and dancing like a fool.

Poor dog! Teasing him so was NOT nice!
