Doesnt looking at this site thoroughly depress you? Seriously...I want them all. Next time someone comes on here saying they are going to breed their lab to their neighbors rottie, tell them to spend 10 min. on Petfinders and see if it changes their mind. And the sad thing thats just the top of the barrel, there are soo many more that need homes. *end rant* Ok now I feel better...well, a little bit I guess.

But really they do get adopted (hopefully) I mean I got Lizzie by going on Perfinder (well sorta long story) !!!!! LOL!!!

Oh I know Liz that it works, petfinders is GREAT at getting homes for dogs. Whats sad is that all those dogs need homes in the 1st place.

I know its sooo sad. Once Alexa is born and a lil older Im going to foster...I dont care what Aaron says. ( he thinks that if we foster we'll never let them go and end up w/ a house full of animals)

yeah

i still look through petfinder regularly and entertain thoughts of a third dog. it's really not possible, but i still think about it. there are so many dogs in need of good homes. so many pit bulls especially. sigh.

Fostering is such a cool thing to do.....I wish I could do that, but there are certain restrictions since we live on base. Petfinder is such a wonderful site. That's how we got Jester. Actually, Ben was looking on that site the other day and has asked me if I want another dog! I need to keep that guy away from that website...Pretty soon the animals will outnumber us!

I found Hudsie on Petfinder... It was totally heartbreaking to only be able to pick one dog, but I'm so grateful that Petfinder exists!

Yes, Petfinder is so sad. I go on there every once in a while. I want every dog I see. I look forward so much to when I can foster. I just hope I don't get too attached to them.

I first heard of Missy through I fellow rescue person, who told me to look on Petfinder to see her best thing I ever did

Fostering is an awesome thing. It's a lot of work sometimes, and it takes a lot of self-control to not keep them, but anyone who is realistic knows they can't keep them all Unfortunatly, the lesson that you can't save them all has to be learned too

I agree !! It's amazing how many people check there . I was at my drs. getting some meds , the other day and was chatting with the receptionist . I mentioned losing my Chip and getting Ollie .... she quickly said " not the Ollie on Petfinder !! " I said Yup ..... both she and another dog lover there had seen him and fell in love with him !

That's happened to me too... I've recognized a couple of dogs in the neighborhood from Petfinder. One was still in foster care, but one was adopted!

I adopted all of my 3 dogs from Petfinder. It is very sad how many people buy dogs for thousands of dollars when you can find your ultimate best friend on Petfinder.

There are so many gorgeous dogs out there needing homes. I got to play with this lovely girl over the weekend. She really is one of the prettiest dogs I've ever seen!
