Just thought I'd post these articles for all the folks who professed to support PETA in the Iams thread. I haven't seen it on this forum yet, and thought every dog owner should be aware that not only do they not want you to have a dog, but that they are actively working to dispose of dogs and cats.

Keep in mind this wasn't a one time deal.

I don't really agree with PETA since they do seem to be too "extreme" for me; however, just to give another side of the story...

Two links you provided are from the same company.... "Center for consumer freedom" ....

This is some information about who the center for consumer freedom is...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Center_for_Consumer_Freedom

They are a "non-profit U.S. advocacy group funded by the food, alcohol, and tobacco industries" so their information might be a little biased (as well as PETA's information probably has its own spin).

I'm not for/against either organization but just wanted to point out there are always two sides to every story ;)

It is good for people to know this.

Alot of people donate to PETA, thinking they are helping animals and they really arent.

This money would be better spent at local shelters or rescue organizations

PETA has and always will be one of the most rediculous organizations I have ever known. I don't even understand how people can support it, unless they only care about cows and chickens but don't give a about what happens to our family companions.

I've came across this kind of information months ago without even attempting to.
It's sad. :(
