I'm asking this for my teen son...he's considering starting a small "business" for friends and neighbors- pet sitting/walking,etc.
Kind of stopping in a set number of times per day,let doggie out, feed, pet, etc while owner is away for the weekend, etc. We're wondering, what would be a good price for him to quote these friends? I pay a neighbor kid to care for my dogs when we're away, and it works so well for us,we figured he could do it for some others we know....thanks for advice!

Your best bet would be to research online what other people in your area are quoting for pet care. I was doing dog walking and sitting for a little while. I charged a little bit below what most actual big pet care companies were charging... part of it was because I hadn't been doing it long enough to truly build up good references and part of it was to make my prices more appealing. I made sure that I was worth every dollar and wish I hadn't stopped since I miss my clients.

The pet sitter we use, and she's a lady who has left a company and trying to start her own client list, charges by the visit....so people can decide if they want 2 visits a day or 3, or even more. Or just one if it's during the work day.

She also guarantees that she will visit the pet a half an hour each time she comes by.

I've seen in some pet sitting site they are charging around $10-$20 per dog. Didn't get the coverage of the service but they are pretty nice.
