I was talking to my friend Katelyn the other day about dogs. I knew she once had a three legged Golden Retreiver named Jack before we knew each other. But as we were talking she brought a dog I never heard her talk about before. Her name was Pepper and she was a Spaniel/Dalmatian mix that Katelyn and her two sisters found running loose in their woods as a puppy.
They had her until she was 5 years old and I guess she was a great dog. Katelyn said Pepper slept in her bed and was extremly bonded to Katelyn and her two sisters. Pepper though was afraid of fire works and on 4th of july when the they were going off Pepper some how got out they back door and ran away. Katelyn and her sisters wanted to go and find Pepper before she got too lost. But her step dad who was a full on ass told them that he didn't feel like going to look for Pepper right then
. Katelyn and her sisters tried not worry because they knew Pepper had tags.
The next day their mom got a phone call. Katelyn and her sisters knew it was about Pepper but her mom wouldn't let them go with her for some reason. Their mom didn't return for a long time until she say her pull up in the driveway but their step dad told the girls they needed to stay inside. Katelyn told me that she and her sisters watched her step dad grab something in a plastic bag and put it in a hole he had dug. After she was buried the girls were aloud to come outside and say goodbye.
Katelyn told me her mother never told them exactly what happened to her but they knew from bits of conversations that she had been cut open. A few years after Pepper died Katelyns mom eventually came clean with the girls. Pepper had been found by what the police suppose was a gang. She had bags of drugs forced down her throat and they took her where they needed to take her. So in other words they used her to smuggle drugs im not sure why because she was only in the next city. Anyways they got her where they needed her to be they cut open her stomach and removed the drugs and left her to bleed to death.
Its kind of sick and surprising you would never think it would happen where they lived. That is now the reason Hannah Katelyns younger sister "hates" dogs because she doesent want to bond to one again. Even though they got Jack after that happened they were all constantly worrying about him. And there's a whole other story of how Jack lost his leg.
People are just sick though. Once again just anouther example of how people just treat dogs like things and not actual living breathing creature.
