Any gun should be treated as a "deadly" weapon whether it be a bb gun, a pellet gun, or a 7mm rifle. At least that is how my children are taught.

All can be dangerous. In my opinion this sure makes responsible parents look bad too. (assuming a kid did it)
That poor dog......sounds like a slow painful death.

Too many people are under the impression a BB or pellet gun cannot really harm an animal. They are so wrong. I wish people would understand they can and do kill, they are not toys.

saddest story i heard on the news was about a little boy i believe around 7 or so that found a pellet gun behind Grandma's washing machine and pointed it at his 4 or 5 year old sister. The pellet went right thru her throat and she died. Not exactly safe now is it.

i felt so bad when i heard that on the radio. The grandmother probably never recovered from the guilt. I don't see the point in either a bb or a pellet gun. did not want my son to have one but dad went ahead..sigh..at least he says he never shot any birds. I hope that is true, it would be against his nature if he did.

I know for a fact that pellet guns can kill. My uncle's hunting brittany spaniel was killed by a single pellet. The pellet pierced a lung and killed her before they could even make it to the vet.

Some people are under the impression that pellet guns are as "safe" as BB guns . . .
There are unsafe people. BB guns in the hands of idiots are very dangerous. Hollywood and its pansies have made millions exploiting the object of their hate by putting them on the big screen and glorifying their misuse- Thanks Arnold, you hypocrite, loser politician POS.
Todays pellet rifles exceed 1000 fps. Just barely under the speed of sound. This aint your dads BB guns. Guns of all types are safe, people however are not and should be banned or at least have a waiting period and background check on parents.

I found out that they had more power when I got mine a week ago. Our bb gun could barely make a dent in sheet metal and bounced off but my pellet gun goes right through it. I agree that they are dangerous and can kill an animal too.

Great example to my post. What the hell are you shooting at steel for?

You are so right.
Guns don't kill people/animals, people do.
That is why education and handling is so important.
Respect, education, handling!!! that is the minimum in our house.
