The Cardis have pretty amazing registered names (chosen by not us)

Poppy is Giants Dance Notz Standing in the Light

Eden is Giants Dance Notz Blackberry Blossom

These are two of the toughest, hardiest, dirty, naughty dogs ever and their names are so nice and pretty!:rofl1:
That's a long kennel name, too, if it's Giants Dance Notz!

Love them, though! HAHA!

I looked farther back in Cali's pedigree (into the 1950s) and found a sire named Baluch Wee Willie Winkie, who was the son of Tiny Tim. The names seem to get progressively worst, but judging by the pictures, Cali takes after her Swedish ancestors.

And here's a Papillon from 1923 who is generations and generations back in her pedigree...

I like how the website includes pictures if they were able to find anything, it's a pretty useful resource for Papillon owners if the sire/dam are in the database.

Most of ruffians was Japanese her mom was the fist born in Canada in that line, her father I believe was a Japanese import. I would have to dig out the total Shiba book to double check, but man those names make no logical sense at all!
Haha glad to know we're not the only ones with that problem. Nard's mom is half Japanese lines, his dad is all Japanese lines. The names are weird.

One of my favorite pap names is Mia's great grandma- Envy Ears for Cheers.

If we're talking for serious, Mia has a nice pedigree. Only 3 dogs in the last 6 gens that weren't champions.

Finn's working bred, so his entire line is easy to call farm dog names. :p

Davy, Moy, Chief, Rob, Hawk, Coal, Jim, Meg, King... :rofl1:
Ha, that's how all the Alaskan lines go, too. There some decent working line ancestry behind Squash's mom but likely some really craptastic BYB lines behind his dad, so that makes him... something. I very much doubt the others have anything even resembling a pedigree, although I suspect there may be some working hunting dogs somewhere in Maisy's background.

Storee's pedigree has some nice ones like Elwood and Bro Macdhuibh. The latter being an OS with lots of titles so guess he's not all bad.

Kilt's pedigree has a lot of tartan and love in it. Her mother's reg'd name is Wildair Complicated Shoes..

Ticket is the classic border collie ISDS pedigree with a whopping SIX 'Nell' lineup. Nell, out of Nell, out of Nell, who of course was out of the lovely Nell, who was named after her mother Nell, who was a spitting image of her mother Nell. He also has Int Sup Ch Spot (ISDS 161819) as one great grandfather, not to be confused with his great great grandfather Int Sup Ch Spot (ISDS 152290). Mustn't forget the many other great names such as the other Nells, Gails, Gaels, Robs, Bets, Bills and so on. His father's name is Joe. :p

Well, as far as weird names, there aren't many in our lines, but we do have a lot of "dykebar" dogs in their pedigrees. Do with that what you will.

Also I love your "Nell" story Lana LOL!

Holy smokes lolol. Kind of makes a person appreciate the use of kennel names to help narrow things down

My late Basset came to me already named and registered (she was given to me at a year of age). Her name was Sheba Lazy Ears Lika A Hawk. Not only was it horrible, but they had a typo in there. I had to trial her in obedience with that abortion of a name, lol. She did get a CD though, so there's that, lol.

Through a series of events that don't need exposition, years ago I acquired an adult Chesapeake who had been AKC registered as "Chessie XXI" (I don't actually remember the exact roman numeral but you get the idea).

I don't know if she was actually out of Chessie I though XX or if the AKC automatically adds a numerical designation in cases where an identical name is used, but it always amused me.

Kim and Webster don't have known pedigrees so no help there really. I'm sure there are some interesting names though :p

Considering both Mira's parents were imported (England, Sweden) you'd think there would be some strange and interesting names, but there really aren't. Nandi Bear and Green Matuka is about as odd as it gets lol. Her mother's side is a lot of working gamekeeper dogs (some of whom also showed to their country's CH when they weren't in the field) and on that side you see registered names that are just one word...Bina, Louis, Luba, etc.

None of mine have any really weird ones, which is disappointing. Journey does have a granddam named Princess Leia, who is out of Skye and Walker :)

Watson has some unkown African dogs listed in his pedigree since some of his great grandparents came straight out of Africa. Hooray for open studbooks :)

Basenji pedigrees seem to tend to have lots of exotic sounding names that use words like Serengeti and such.

My favorites in Watson's pedigree are his grandfather "Laurel Handsome Devil" and his Granmother on his father's side who is "Sonbar's Graceful Goddess".

Watson himself is "Laurel S'Say What?" (perfect name for a basenji).

Nothing terribly silly to be found in his ancestral listings though.

Now Menchi's pedigree includes such lovely monikers as "Sun Kissed Bonbon" (her maternal grandmother) and "Red Hot Lover Boy" (her paternal grandfather).

Menchi is registered as "True Gem's Little Voodoo Doll".

Quinn's pedigree doesn't have any standouts as far as odd registered names. English Shepherd names tend to usually be something like Whatever Farm's Bess and Suchandsuch Acre's Honey. The ones that do have clever registered names (that aren't their call names!) tend to belong to fun creative agility or pet people.

It's the latter. I found out because I wanted Lauren's Little Lassie for Nikki's name and apparently it was taken, hence the II.
