I had a coupon and decided to try out one of those Pedigree Jumbones. According to the commercials, the Jumbone is safe and is designed for long-lasting chewing entertainment (such as when you leave your dog home alone).

So I got home and gave it to Zeus. He obviously liked it. Total bone lifespan: less than 2 minutes. No exaggeration. So much for the long-lasting part. But he did seem to like it alot as a snack.

Anybody else try one of these things?

Have you looked at the ingredients of that thing? Yuck! lol

The second ingredient is sugar (a great way to make it attractive, what dog doesn't like sweet things), it contains propylene glycol, "animal digest" and "meat byproduct".

Bully sticks, dried tendons etc. are a much better choice. :)

yeah I tried them. I give them to Hannah occasionally, she likes them. Yeah they don't last long at all she always has hers gone in about five minutes. They cost me like 3 dollars for one for her so she hasn't gotten one for a few months. I know they are bad but for an occasional "bad" treat that is what she prefers. I wasn't too happy with them too because bits and pieces got stuck all over the floor and I had to really scrub to get them off.

Have you tried Nylabones edibles like the Chick N Cheeze Chooze or Pop Pup Potato bones? Better ingredients& longer lasting.

I usually give Zeus natural bones. But I just happened to have a coupon, and decided to see if the Jumbone lived up to the advertising.

Even my 2 mini dachshunds can have one gone in 2 minutes. We give them as a once in a while treat.

I give roxy some cow thingys...it has marrow in the middle and it turns into a hollow piece I think its part of a leg or something we get alot of meat straight from a butcher (we buy a whole cow with a couple friends) and they give us those bones,Roxy loves them and spends hours in her crate and theres not that much on them really just the marrow in the middle, keeps her quiet for hours!
