Is using human peanut butter in place of KONG peanut butter OK?

I've tried putting the KONG peanut butter in the freezer as they suggested so the dog'll be occupied licking the stuff , but it didn' freeze and it's the same as it was, just colder. My dog still gets to the goodies inside far too easily.

Does the KONG stuff freeze at all?

I've been putting Canidae Snap Biscuits in my KONGs.

Not sure about the peanut butter. I do know that JIF, SKIPPY, etc aren't the most nutritious things in the world.

I have been using real peanut butter in my puppy's kong...

I believe its okay, if you get an all natural one. (jif, skippy, etc. have a lot of sugar in them).

Peanut butter is okay, but in moderation. Keep in mind that even just one tablespoon contains about 95 kcal, over 10% of the average daily requirement of a 30 pound dog. Also, regular peanut butter contains quite a bit of salt.

Peanut butter doesn't freeze hard because it contains a lot of fat. Try plain yogurt, canned pumpkin (without any spices added), canned food etc.

I'm going to quote myself here because I wanted to ask about Canidae Snap Biscuits.

I have seen these recommended on the forum and I just started putting them in my KONG about 2 weeks ago. It seems that since then, my beagles tend to have soft stool more often.

One of the things that struck me about the ingredients is that the first two listed are chicken meal and turkey meal. Everything I have fed my beagles up to this point have been meat-based. My kibble has hormone-free chicken as the first ingredient, my main snack is 100% freeze-dried liver, and I also feed them RMBs.

Are these Snap-Biscuits really that good of a product?

They are a good quality product.

As for the chicken in kibble - use hormones in chickens raised for slaughter is not permitted in the US, so saying the chicken is hormone free is akin to saying water is wet. :)

Dante's favorite Kong treat is when I put canned food in it the night before and freeze it.
I've never seen his Kong as clean as it is when I do that.

What about antibiotics? The chicken in the kibble does not contain these as well.
