Last Saturday I was bored. I finished painting the door to our bathroom to match the rest of the kitchen (we painted all the doors and casing cream instead of white). And our bathroom looked so horrid, we've never painted it since we've been here, so I started by painting the casings cream, then thought the ceiling and walls looked horrible now, so painted them too, then thought the vanity looked yuck (it was maple color) so I painted that too. All this and it didn't cost me anything. I had all the paintbrushes and paint needed. I bought paint a few months ago for our kitchen, and once I painted a section I decided it didn't look good so went with another. So I used it for the bathroom. It's connected to our kitchen so it kind of blends well.

It used to be a light baby blue with white trim. And now it's like a terracotta color and cream trim.

Now we have to change the counter top. We have one with a bowl sink. Steve will have to redo some plumbing to get it in. I'm sure it's going to be a pain in the butt to do. And later we're going to change the flooring too ceramic till.

Mericox, you can use the downstairs bathroom now that I've painted the door and it's back up. :rofl1:

Excuse the open toilet lid...he!

I like it! Looks like you done a very tidy job too.......I always have missed spots and spots where there shouldn't be spots! LOL

I love neutral tones like that though, my kids call me 'boring' but it's so much easier to switch accessories if the wall color is neutral! LOL (I learned that the hard way over the years :D)

My husband doesn't like it either. He says that painting is something you shouldn't do sober, so lets just say he ain't allowed to paint. ROFL! He also doesn't believe in painters tape or prepping up a room prior to painting. I find it relaxing for some odd reason. And I love how it feels when it's done, it feels refreshing.

That looks amazing!! When you say vanity it means the sink right? What kind of paint did you use on it? I really want to paint ours (it's a cheapo one and ugly) but I'm not sure what kind of paint to use cause it's super slick.

Yes, it's the base part of it. I used Sherwin Williams Adhesion Primer (that stuff works amazingly on varnished surface, I love it) and for paint it's again Sherwin's All Surface Enamel in acrylic latex satin finish.

Thanks everyone, we're liking the new color. Much better then all baby blue which it used to be.

Lol I figured that's what it meant but then I thought a vanity was one of those things you sit at to put on makeup so I decided to ask. I really want to paint mine now....maybe this weekend.
