So....all in all we've had an excellent spring in our area this year, things are drying up nicely, even the grass is just starting to green up. A complete reverse of last summer, when we had rain every third day, along with some MAJOR rainfalls. So, where's this heading? Some of you may recall, last summer I used a bulldozer here for a couple days to regrade an area for a new agility ring....the issue? It never dried up enough for us to get it finished and grass seed started.

So, today it was just dried enough that I was able to use the cultivator and the harrows behind the tractor to get things leveled up and the rocks to the surface. Now we need another day or two of dry weather to get the rocks picked, harrow it again, and hopefully one last go for picking rocks, then seeding. This is where the vibes come in, Dekka is itching to get the ring underway, so vibes are needed for the co-operation from the weather!

Will see what tomorrow brings, didn't get any pictures tonight as it was just getting dark as I finished up.

I know Dekka is going to be busy tomorrow rock harvesting........

All in all though, it should make things such that I can get out of the doghouse though for a change.... :)

Good weather vibes headed your way!

I hate "rock harvesting". We spent a summer leveling part of our yard for an agility area, and spent much too long picking the rocks out. Rake, pick, rake, pick. Not fun! lol

So....it did rain a bit last night....it was just borderline too wet to do anything today, but Darien and I headed up about 10am and started picking, with both Dekkas, Mafia and Cider joining shortly after. We've got probably 80% of it picked for the first round, and are just taking lunch break now.

The section left is completely in the middle, so I've 're-harrowed' the outer strip, it will help it dry out a bit quicker now, and the rest is actually drying just enough for us to work with it. Dekka took some pics, we'll get them up later.

Another hour or two should pretty much have the rocks picked, and hopefully if a few of the humps/hollows that are left harrow out after that, we'll be good to go for grass seed either later today or in the next day or two. (Where I'd really like to get the seed I don't think is open today.....it might have to wait until tomorrow night.) Forecast is for rain the next couple days, then sun and warm/almost hot the end of the week and the weekend, which would be perfect to get it going.
