ARGHHH I'm so frustrated lol

There is a crib I want and it is quite inexpensive as far as cribs go.... BUT it is only available online.

The crib costs about $180 and has been given great reviews. BUT.... to have it shipped the cheapest way is going to cost..... are you ready for this.....

TWO HUNDRED AND SIXTY BUCKS

The shipping costs MORE than the crib does.

GRRRRR so obviously we are NOT getting that crib. So now we have to find somewhere else to get a crib even though my mother in law gave us a gift card for a crib at babies r us.... but all the "in store" cribs there are over $300 and I am sorry but I am NOT paying that much for a crib.

GRRRRRR

Sparks my friend found a REALLY fabulous crib at a second hands shop.........Honestly it looked BRAND NEW! I am pretty sure she paid less than 100.00.............Keep your eyes peeled, and watch the papers for yard sales too, they are really a great resource for baby things :)

Yeah we are going out this weekend to look at different places to get cribs. it just makes me mad because now we can't use the gift certificate for the crib from my MIL..... I know we can put it towards other things instead but it just frustrates me. We want to get as much of the nursery set up this weekend as we can and this stupid crib thing just throws a wrench in the works.

We also wanted one of those convertible cribs but I guess we will have to settle for one that isn't convertible.

ARGH.

Ohh...that sucks. I am sorry, Sparks! Over $200 shipping?! That's crazy! I don't know what you want... but I just checked ebay and they have a huuuuuge selection of cribs, too!

Wow... that is alot...
Large box with some weight to it though I guess.

I've fedex'd things from California to Ontario (4ft light fixtures, so again not a small thing) on overnight/fastest possible and it was only like $150.

I wonder why it's so much though... how far a distance is it/ who is it being shipped with?

This was the one that I wanted

I really have no idea where it comes from or who they ship with but that was the CHEAPEST shipping option. it's insane.

Although someone just told me that they found a simplicity convertable crib at walmart.com and they offer free shipping to the nearest store. So I might still be able to get the same kind of crib.

That's OK.... we found a kick a$$ set at Walmart. You can get almost the exact same crib, dresser AND change table for $200. I think we are going to go with that. :D

Sparks, I know exactly how that feels.

We searched for over a month for a vanity and I finally found one on ebay for $150. I was so excited and then I found out shipping from California to Canada was $200! We ended up buying it anyways because for us to get a crappy one specially made would have cost us $900 so it was worth it but geez...

It sucks.

I am glad you found one at Walmart though. Gotta love Walmart:D

I was going to say, watch out with second-hand cribs, you never know how safe they are.

About the walmart deal, it seems a bit too good to be true :( I hope you don't get a bad surprise with drawers that don't close anymore etc... Does the crib has a drop down side? I couldn't imagine getting a crib without one, and with a very cheap crib it might break easily.

Got airmiles? We used my MIL's airmiles and got a gorgeous crib that also converts. Shipping was included.

I know a lady who's grandson is currently using the exact same set and they love it. She says the only problem is putting the crib together can be frustrating lol but other than that everything is great and the crib is basically the exact same crib we were going to get only a different finish on it. Same brand and everything.

The crib is convertable and yes drops down but I am not too overly concerned with that. I have lifted many a baby out of cribs that had no such thing.

No we don't have any airmiles Saje :(

We got the one from Wally World this afternoon. Pretty decent stuff. NOT made of compress board or anything. Happy with it.

And YES Fran, it has a drop down side. :p
