So I got the worst side ach I've ever had on Wednesday right before fireworks. By the time fireworks were over I couldn't move. Felt like someone was sticking knives in my right side. Then when we got home I barely made it to the bathroom to throw up. I never experienced a pain that actually made me throw up before and I've had some doozy pains. So I decided to go straight to bed and see how it was in the morning. I thought if this is what the doc called muscle streatching for the baby what the heck is labor going to be like... UHG!

Morning came and still had this side ach. Anytime I tried lifting my right leg it would set my whole right side of my abdomen off. I went to work and then decided to call the doc's office. They suggested I come in. When I got there doc had been called to an emergency c-section. With the pain I was having they decided to have me go up to the hospital so they can run some tests and when the doc got out of surgery he could see me. So they admitted me to the hospital in the birthing center. Then they wanted to hear the heartbeat and it was nice a strong about 150-155. Because the pain was so high up on me they weren't too conserned with baby as appose to me and all my organs. So they ran urine, blood and even did a ultrasound of all my organs that could be possibly be causing pain. After about 4-5hrs of sitting at the hospital all tests came back okay and they chalked it up to a pulled muscle. I'm like but I didn't do anything strenuous... so they said it could have been something I did or possible it could be a side affect from my uterus expanding to accommodate for the baby even though it was a high pain.

Either way baby is fine. Mama is doing fine, now, and the pain is actually subsiding. Thank goodness!

Okay that's my spiel to share. Hopefully next Thursday I'll have some ultrasound pictures to add to the baby photo gallery! ;)

Wow, that really sucks! I thought your appendix had burst, which is always scary but even more so when pregnant!

I'm very glad you're feeling better though!

Almost sounds like gallbladder pain to me...especially with the throwing up. I hope you feel better.
That's what they were thinking too so that's why they did all the tests and the ultrasound. I tell ya though they don't mess around when your pregnant!

Keep an eye on it....it doesn't always show up right away in your blood. Also, before I had mine taken out, they didn't see anything on the unltra sound because the gall stones were like dust. They were plugging up the duct. It was sooooooooooo painful and I was sooooooooooooooooo sick!!!!!!!!!:(

For some reason, a pregancy can bring on gallbladder problems. I had to have mine removed 3 months after having my first child. It was very painful, I couldn't eat much, and I would throw up.
My mom had to have hers removed when she was 3 months pregnant with my brother... Yes she had to go thru surgery while pregnant. We always tease my brother, that is what is wrong with him!

I know alot of others that had gallbladder problems either during or shortly after giving birth.

Just keep that in mind in case you continue to have problems.
I hope you feel better soon!

Scary! I can't believe you didn't go to the doctor right away. I hope the rest of your pregnancy goes smoothly. :)

wow that's scary.....

They are right about the strange aches and pains caused by your expanding uterus though.... although do keep an eye on it.

I am going through an excruciating pain right now in my left side of my abdomen. it wakes me at night.... it hurts into my hip and down into my groind.... I can't use that general muscle area at all without a ton of pain. Turns out it is the main ligament that tries to hold the uterus in place and it can become quite strained because your uterus doesn't always want to do what it should.... like stay put. :D

But keep an eye on the pain..... especially if the throwing up continues or you develop a fever or anything.

I just want to mention that I also had side pains that were crippling, however I shrugged them off as muscle spasms. Now minus a gallbladder & deal with recurrent kidneystones, I know better. :)

Keep on top of it all!
