Meet Boots (draker of the two on the left) and Socks!

Last week, I saw a posting on a ferret list for someone who had been trying to rehome her ferrets for almost a month, as she was moving and couldn't take them. The ferrets were rescues that she took in from bad homes when they were young and less than healthy. Now they're about four years old and in great shape! Socks is the female, and she is a little smaller than Boots (who we refer to as her big brother, though they're unrelated). My friend and I drove to NYC yesterday (497 miles round trip) to pick up these two little sweethearts. Expect more pictures as time goes on!

Oh..I love ferrets. I had a ferret years ago name Lucy. They are the silliest little creatures, so full of fun and mischief. What a cute pair.

HOW CUTE! I adore ferrets. I BEG my dad to allow me to stop in the petstore and play with them when we're in town. :) (We live in the Boonies, and it's about 20mins to the nearest town-Franklin,TN). I've been wanting a ferret for a LONG time, but we haven't had the greatest experience with the small animals(we had a rabbit who cost us over $400 in damage to our wood floor :yikes: ), so we've stuck to dogs....I want to get a Ferret when I leave for College in a few years though! I'd love that. My dad thinks they smell....I told him if they are descented, and neutered/spayed that it takes care of the smell, but he doesn't have a very open mind....It's okay though. I have my dog, and I love her to pieces. I hope she'll like a Ferret! Probably, she LOVES our cat. Anyone have experience with Terriers and ferrets?: PM me. ;) You have an adorable couple there. :)

I actually had to google the lifespan question, as I've only ever fostered ferrets before and only had them for a few months. Looks like average is about 7-10 years old. Socks and Boots are 4 - 4.5 years old.

I have 2 ferrets (a male who is deaf and a female). They are about a year old (I got them when they were little babies). They are so cute but I tend to call mine little s#@ts! I love them though but I've had to do a lot of work to get them to be halfway normal like they are now. Although, Dixie's mom, my two are descented and they still smell (not as bad as one who hasn't been descented). Even with weekly baths and bedding changes every other day they still do have quite the odor to them.
