A few months ago we moved the dogs from being fed outside to being fed inside (in the garage)
After a while I wanted to teach them some more manners than just diving into their bowls when we put them down.

i started teaching them to wait for their food untill I had them all settled in front of them but that was too difficult and I spent too much time diving back and forwards through the garage stopping them from eating too early.

So we decided to make them wait outside the door for their cue (inspired by a youtube clip)
Now I can go "dinnertime" they all start heading for the garage "wait" as I get to it and they all stop (except for the sometimes random moment when one "forgets" what they shoudl be doing)
We'd release them on "okay" which we changed after about a week because they got too overexcited and scoffed their food. Worried about Harry choking or Sophie getting bloat.

So I introduce our final system, the release words are "harry okay" "sophie okay" "mac okay" and "buster okay" in varying order. They've adapted great and now very rarely get breakaways who want to go early. They also each have their own designated bowl in their own area they always have to eat from. They're great at it, they rarely get mixed up now :D

Here they are waiting, thought it was just so cute.

and a lovley "family portrait"
