She may turn out to be a red -- she sure is sounding right :rofl1:
I'm not super familiar with what exactly makes fawn vs red.. But she isn't that really blonde, light fawn, she has a deeper color to her, we thought she was really pretty, they did have the light light fawns there as well. Her dad was a super light Fawn, but boy was he purdy, and BIG...

They are darker and have a slight amber/reddish cast to the coat. Often you'll see an amount of blackish markings on the chest and face that will become the reddish coat as they grow up.

Hmm... I wonder if she will be a red.. Thats what we liked about her, that she had quite a bit of dark on her face, chest, and front of legs... Now I am curious.. ;)

What is really intersting about the color variations...When they are just a day old, they will seek out the other pups like themselves. Eyes are closed, yet the fawns will group, the dark brindles, and the light/reverse brindles will all sleep with their kind/color, the majority of the time. This lasts even after their eyes are open, they seem to prefer hanging out with their own color. :)

Very strange, but pretty cool.

First I want to say that posting here on Chaz is what we're all about. You don't waste anyone's time by asking what we think of something or just talking about things.

Sounds like you've decided to just have Luna for now. Enjoy her and looking forward to pics as she grows up.

Agreed..........you don't waste anyone's time.......most of the time we are here to procrastinate and you are enabling us! :lol-sign:

I am glad you've decided to just go with Luna for now, I think it was the wisest choice. You're new fila owners which means you have lots of learning to do besides just teaching, LOL Your daughter will be starting school soon too, and that takes more time and work than you might realize IMO. Yes, I think you made the best choice for now.......couple years from now though.........who knows! haha

I want the other pup!!!! LOL! A brindle? I don't even need to see a pic!

I did not do litter mates but did two puppies same age at the same time. Bad decision. Twelves years later they can still not be in the same room together. I kept them in separate rooms, separate training sessions, separate feedings, etc etc. They would be best buds when they were together, but the switch flipped one day and that was it. No amount of work could change it. They both get along with the other dogs but can not be near each other. I will never do two again and will never adopt out two together to anyone. I have seen it work but for the times it does not its not worth it.
