Be prepared to not pay yourself for a year or two. If you took out a loan for your business, dont be foolish with it. We know a guy who started a printing business the same time we opened our business. He took out a loan, we didnt. He hired helped within a month, within 6 months hired more help. He took out a health insurance plan for him and his employees, he hired a accounting firm to handle the paychecks and stuff. Because he wasnt using family members he had to have workmans comp. He bought a new car. He wasnt willing to work long hours or work weekends. Within a year he had to sell his business. He wasnt willing to give up anything.

Rates for electric and phone are higher when it's for a business. That really sucks. Make sure you take out insurance. Just in case someone falls or something in your store.

I could go on and on but dont know how much time I have to be on the computer. You might have a big grand opening. Budget for a sign that stands out. Not some small crappy thing. You want something that will catch people's attention. Be picky about your sign.
