Quick, easy and really cheap idea - get a large, clean, sock, fill it with rice and tie it at the top so it won't spill. Pop it in the microwave and you've got a nice heat wrap. It'll loosen the muscles and the pain a little bit. :p
I hope you feel better soon. I know how much a back can hurt. I've never had a slipped disk or w/e, but I do have scoliosis :(

A hot bath. Would stretches help do you think? I've never had that problem. Hope you feel better.

((hugs))

I've been taking tumbling lately to get a round off back handspring, and ever since I always wake up with a horrible back ache. Usually a warm shower(bath would be better) helps, as well as some pain killers and back stretches.

For some reason I read this as back acne instead of ache and was like "Hmm....interesting topic".

I don't know how to fix it though. I've always done a warm bath when my muscles get a little finicky. My mom and sister use Epsom Salts though I don't know what that is nor whether they help but you might look into it.

Try laying on 2 tennis balls, put them in a sock and lay on them, make sure one ball is on each side of your spine. Do your best to relax while laying on them...this usually works for me when my back needs to be adjusted.

Get some icy-hot pads, put one on for 45 mins, get an ice pack, put that on (yes, an ice pack after the icy hot patch), take it off after 5 mins, get into a really hot bath with bath bubbles (somehow they help), lay back in the tub, relax, and think about white, puffy clouds, and running through fields, green, soft fields.

Last doctor I saw had me do this and it seems to help.

Lay face down on the floor (need hard surface). Bend your arms inward and rest on your elbows. Stay in this position for a minute or so and then slowly lay flat on the floor again before rolling over to get up.

I'v also done this by standing against a wall, put your hands on your hips and bend the top half of your body backwards as much as you can without moving your hips away from the wall. Hold this position for about 30 seconds.

I hope this might help.

If you have a disk out, therapy is probably the only thing that will help.

One other thing you might try, get on all 4's (be careful the dogs might think your playing) let your back just realx and drop this will cause your back to look like a u. After about 15 sec roll your back up into a arch and hold that and do it again.

Now after I had my spine fusion the exercises or stretches they gave me are:

lye on your back bring 1 foot up and place over opp. knee cap. grab your knee with opp hand and pull leg toward you. so basically if ur left leg is stretched outward and right foot is over left knee then use left hand to grab right knee

lay flat on back pull knee into chest, bend chin to chest and stretch by pulling the knee as close to the chin as possible.

Also try the counter. if you have an island or space on a counter lay on the counter on your back and using the edge scoot off letting the edge help pop you back into place
