Has anyone used an online pharmacy?

My doctor started me on a medication for general anxiety, but my insurance wants to charge me $100 a month for it. That coupled with the fact that my husband and I want at least one more baby (we are trying now as we don't want to wait much longer at our ages), and this is a class C drug so I don't want to be on it while pregnant so I have weaned myself off of it. My anxiety has unfortunately returned but I am determined to stay off of it until after the next baby, but even then I can't really justify $100 a month. I googled "cheap lexapro" and got several hits from online pharmacies, some selling it for as cheap as a 6 month supply for $250. I mentioned it to my husband and he seems concerned about the safety of getting drugs from a place like this. I'll ask my doctor next time I'm there, but thought in the mean time I'd ask here as well since Chazhound seems to have the answers to everything :p

What about asking your doctor to change to something cheaper? In my experience, I would not go with an online pharmacy (unless its a mail order one through your insurance/prescription coverage). If it was something like test strips, I'd say go for it, but with drugs I'd have to say no.

I've used Medco before, but that's it.

I remember when I was on Pamelor, it was on Walmarts $4 list. Talk to your doctor about trying a different drug.

And I'm currently on Buspar. I'm not so sure it's doing the job, BUT I've only been one it 2 weeks and I'm just now starting my mid-day dose as my doc started me off low and slow so as to avoid or minimize any side effects (which was great). As far as I know, it's a Class B drug for pregnancy (which Tylenol and Benadryl fall into). Maybe look into that?
