Just curious on your opinions.
One of my friends had a one night stand with somebody last night..
Not somebody she knew too well, but I know him well and alot of her other friends know him too. Hes a good guy. They were both only in it for the physical aspect of it.

but some people seem to have a problem with her decision, and somehow think its their business (non of mine either really).. I'm having a problem wapping my head around why people are really saying stuff.. Its not really that big of a deal IMO. People do it ALL the time. And some of the people that are saying the most are people that have done/do it themselves, to whats the differance?

btw- from what i can tell shes not really the type to be hooking up with random guys all the time, so def doesnt deserve to be called a slut.

Personally, i think sex is sex. If you are being responsible about it, it doesnt matter to me what/who you do.. lol.

Do you somehow think having a one night stand makes somebody a bad person in some way or deserves a bad name for it?

I guess it depends on your moral view point. I don't think she should be called a bad name but she is engaging in an activity that I would never even consider myself and do consider less than admirable. But, because those are my personal beliefs, I don't get to have a say about her actions. If she were my kid? I'd be flipping out.

She's 18 years old, btw. So that may make a bit of a differance ;)
Not really. IMO at least.

I'd never consider it myself. It's not in line with my morals and values so I might lose some respect for a person that does it.... but it doesn't necessarily make them a bad person.

I don't see anything wrong with that, I've actually never had sex in a relationship. I wouldn't call them all one night stands, some where, some where "friends with benefits" type things.
Personally, I find it harder to allow myself to emotionally connect with someone, sex is just fun though, its the easy bit.

I don't see the problem, if it feels good and your not hurting anyone, do it. If it feels really good, do it again! Variety is the spice of life and all that jazz.
I don't think you can judge ANYONE's moral fibre on how they run they're sex life.

If both parties are being safe and consenting and both know where the lines stand (i.e. this is a one-off thing) then whatever. It takes a certain level of adult maturity to successfully deal with ONS but it can be done.

Safety is paramount!

There should be no reason for name calling.

Personally, I find that those who have sex out of wedlock to be horrible hellbent sinners who deserve every STD that they will inevitably get by having unprotected devil sex. They should be shunned and called every name the Good Book allows.

Nothing good can come of it. Premarital sex is one thing, and a one night stand is the epitome of this type of sin. Those who partake in it need to have Satan beaten out of them, and need the guidance of a good pastor to get them back on the path to holiness.

I generally don't have a problem with one night stands. It happens. Just be safe. On the other hand - since you said many were name calling - why did she even tell so many people?

I don't have a problem with them. If you use protection, the only real danger (aside from low statistical chances) are some STDs, or a crazy bitch poking holes in your sheath.

Meh, I've had one in my lifetime, and it hasn't really made a difference in my life lol.

Sex is sex, yes. But I think when you're with someone you care about, it's a different kind of intimacy. Sounds like they were just getting their mutual needs met. Nothin wrong with that IMO.

In my opinion, 18 is too young to be having sex in the first place. I certainly wouldn’t call her a slut, but if she is going to tell people about it, than she needs to expect having to hear other people's opinions & criticism.

this ^

its never something I would personally do. but for those who do, and both parties KNOW exactly what it is..than thats fine and totally their business, no reason for name calling!

being safe and honest with the other person is number one!

I would never have a one night stand, I'm just not that kind of girl. Hopeless romantic maybe? lol I think sex is something special, something between me and a person I love. I wouldn't be able to do it any other way..

Oh and I agree, if shes telling people about it. she should expect to hear everyone elses opinion...
you air your dirty laundry out in public, and somebody is gonna come around and wanna wash it lol

All of this! I don't know why people go running their mouths and then get surprised when people form opinions on what they do or don't do. I understand she might be surprised if it's something typical for her group of friends, but hypocrisy is nothing new... the people who are in no position to talk are usually the ones that talk the loudest.
