My 4 1/2 month old westie has been itching the same spot on his side for a few days now. I inspected as much as I could and found nothing. It doesn't seem to really be bothering him, but it is the same side over and over. Any advice?

Also, I am a little concerned about his activity level. We usually get him out for 1.5-2 hours/ 4-6 miles a day and his is still bouncing off the walls for about an hour each night. I am concerned that this is too much exercise, but my vet said he is healthy and strong and that as long as we don't see any signs of lameness in him, he should be fine. however---does anyone have any advice? As I said, he gets a lot of exercise, we find at least an hour to play/train and he is amazingly well behaved. However, there is always some time at night when he is running crazily and we are whipped and ready for bed. Any advice would be great!

I suggest a visit to the vet to see what's up with the itchy spot.

Puppies are naturally high-energy little buggers, much like toddlers. The running around crazily at night sound like normal puppy zoomies -- basically, the pup goes bonkers and flies around the room in a sudden burst of energy. Not sure what to do to prevent them though.
