Miss Sally brought to meeee
A possum too slow to climb a treeee...
A big one too-first possum of the year. I thought she'd killed off all the weak and stupid wildlife that ventured into our yard by now, but apparently not. Last night she came trotting proudly up the stairs with a fat possum in her mouth. I think she was deeply disappointed that I didn't bring it in and cook it for her. After I brought her in (and wiped the slobber/possum fur/blood/grass mixture hang from her jowls-gross), I poked at it with a plastic hanger and discovered it was still alive. Usually Sally brings us mortally wounded possums that DH has to dispatch with a shovel, but this one seemed slightly more lively than usual so we gave him a little time to recover. After about a half hour he waddled off on all 4 legs under his own power. Hopefully he has learned his lesson about coming into our yard, I really prefer that the dogs not kill critters. 'Tis the season I suppose.
