Yeah, it's the same litter, and it's the same pup that was smooching all over Aurelia. Honestly, it worked out really well because I had avoided getting to know her since we thought she was spoken for. She has a lot of the same temperament traits that I really liked about her sister, and the breeder thinks she might be a better show dog than the other one I originally liked.
She will be bigger anyway! Her feet are nearly the same size as Strider's and she's only 12 weeks.
Okay, so the story of how Robert got her to me:
He told me a couple of days before Christmas that we couldn't afford a puppy and that he was sorry. I was so sad. Originally we were going to bring one home in early January, after the holidays were over.
Unbeknownst to me, he drove up and got her on Christmas Eve, and passed her off to some friends for the night. From what I'm told she got to have some awesome Christmas partay times that night and everyone fought over who got to hold her, ha ha.
The next morning we drove to my mom's house to open presents. Robert gave me a big box, and it had a journal inside with Aurelia's name on it. He told me to read the first entry. It was so cute, he wrote about how awesome Aurelia is, and how we, her parents, are keeping a journal about her as she grows up. The very last line of the entry said:
"And I think Aurelia is really going to love the new puppy her mom is getting for Christmas."
And then I had a heart attack, lol.
And then our friends came in the door with a giant puppy with a red bow around her neck. And I had another heart attack. It was so awesome, I hugged her for a long time, she's really huggy! She is so incredibly gentle with Aurelia too, I have not once had to stop her from jumping up or nipping or anything.
