I just got an email from my humane society reminding people to make sure no dogs get locked outside for the night :yikes:

Apparently they found a dog that had been locked in the outside portion of his little kennel...he had ice hanging from his mouth :( the poor little poopsie!

Luckily he survived and everything...but sunday night had a feel like temp of around -20!!!!!

Ugh, i feel so guilty cause i havent gone to the shelter in sooo long...i just have had no time :( And the cold...omg...as much as i love dogs...me and cold just do NOT get along...i am terribly sensitive to it...i need to get some snowpants or something :lol-sign:

hahaha OC, shame on you!!! :p

I wish i knew what kind of dog it was...it was on the side of the shelter that people cant adopt from...either bite cases or just havent been checked in yet...they are usually 75% pits over there...so i dont think they can stay nice and toasty like OC can!!!

Years ago a Malamute died up here from the COLD.
Which is why I got the CAS. I fight with them to come in.
The only ones not allowed out for long time is my 10 year olds too cold.

I wonder if that Mal had some health issues or perhaps was inadequately prepared for the cold. Perhaps he came from a warmer climate or was kept inside most of the time hence not developing a full winter coat. Often people make the latter mistake
