I have a ton of doberman at my work. I really like working with them, they're lovely dogs, but one issue we're running into is this supposedly notorious rock back sit.

When working on a front or a proper position for a halt they all roll backwards a bit before sitting, it could be their size or their breed or just their lines (they're almost all from the same breeder with various owners who frequent our facility) but we need some tips on correcting this.

So, any tips?

its not their breeder, its their breed. its the structure - dobermans are notorious for it, and its a lifetime that you need to work on it. once a rock back sitter, always a rock back sitter unless you keep on top of them forever and work it. only two of my dobes will naturally tuck. and even they sometimes rock...

Kaylee is the only one of mine that will. Thank goodness.

Well boo! Okay, I'll check out that other link. Interesting to know it is infact a trait of theirs, too bad it is unlikely to be fixed. I check the link and keep trying I guess, I can try and catch a video Alicia but basically from a stand they lean back into a sit, tuck their front feet back into them and are now a good 1-2 feet back further than you wanted them.

That said, they're really fun dogs to work with, I just found myself really stumped here!
