Has anyone tried the canned beans or the fresh ones in produce ???

I have used canned beans for black bean soup before. I like to add a can of tomatoes, some large cut onions and even some chicken sometimes. I am sure I am missing a ton of ingredients.

Hubby has been out of town this week so I have been making easy meals. I don't want to eat out so I can save the money and b/c I am trying not to eat too unhealthy. Tonight I am having some jalapeno sausage, mac & cheese or a baked potato maybe and some spinach!

Thanks folks !! I usually have ham in the freezer and an onion on hand . I may buy a green pepper and saute it and onion in garlice and olive oil and freeze . If I have a can of black beens on hand I'd be all set as I always have rice on hand .

My stomach is growling reading this stuff, and I have NO idea what to make for dinner :(

We ordered pizza last night because I procrastinated until it was dinner time, LOL, guess I better go open the freezer and figure it out *sigh*

I settled for a dinner "breakfast" We do this about once a month here and nobody complains :D

I had scrambled eggs, biscuits, and the little smoked breakfast links w/cheese stuffed in them and of course orange juice (from frozen concentrate)

Sometimes we do biscuits/gravy/fried tators, sometimes it's eggs/pancakes, and sometimes it's what we had tonight! Breakfast "dinner" is always an easy standby for when you don't really want to cook! LOL

Chicken in linguine with LOTS of garlic and oil.

The cupboards are starting to get bare around here, and we're broke until Thursday... we might be having a few nights of pancakes this week :(

Crock pot roast beef with carrots, potatoes, onions and GARLIC ;)

I was so excited when I came home and the whole hall up to my apartment smelled absolutely fabulous. I walked into the apartment and said "D@mn right, that's MY cooking that's making the whole hall drool with envy" lol.

Tonight I'm opening up a can of chicken broth, adding carrots , celery , and pieces of chicken tender strips ... then rice and peas when carrots are tender and simmer until " nice " . Taht and toasted fench bread toast will be it . This is soup weather !

Justin recently decided that he seriously wants to lose weight, so I've been helping by cooking healthy meals. I bought The Biggest Loser Family Cookbook, which I recommend. It's awesome! Yesterday I made baked ziti. And it was good, despite using fiber-enriched pasta, HOMEMADE sauce which was quite easy to make but takes an hour to simmer (tasted great though), fat-free cheese (I sprinkled real cheese on my serving when he wasn't looking), and low fat ricotta. I am so pleased. It's really not *the* healthiest thing in the world, but the poor guy is Italian and it's too much to ask to deprive him of pasta, IMO. I've been making/buying healthy snacks for him too. Tomorrow I'm making fish tacos.

We'll be doing Christmas dinner in TN, so I'm not sure what we'll have. Probably turkey or turducken (I really want to try it, it sounds soooo good!).

I'm making hamburger pizza and salad. It's not pizza with hamburger topping--it's hamburger seasoned and pressed into the pan with tomatoes, then mozzarella cheese, then toppings (mushrooms, onions, banana peppers, green peppers, red peppers, and olives) and baked. It's yummy.
