I just had to share this with everyone because it's got me very excited!!
For a while now I have been working at a grooming center. Much larger then a regular salon, and unfortuantly a little less personal. Your dog might not always get the same groomer unless they are specifically asked for when setting the appointment. Walk in's, even if they are repeat customers, do not have the option to request a groomer. This always bothered me because I would see people just bring their dog's in and ask for me, and be told as a walk in, they couldn't request me as I already had appointments. So I would see these dog's that worked great with me struggle and panic in the hands of another groomer because they were untrained or could care less.
Needless to say, I left that place. Since then I've been working at a car dealership (which I hate. I don't like jobs that don't invovle dogs). I've been trying to find a local (and more personal) dog salon to work at, but in my area they won't hire you without certification because of insurance reasons (which I understand completely).
So Monday night I enrolled in dog grooming classes to become certified! I'm so excited. I got an e-mail today saying that I am now OFFICALLY enrolled and should be expecting my books in the mail any day now and also my free, complimentary grooming kit with top of the line clippers and siccssors and everything! And because of this I've already got four local grooming salons offering me part time jobs when I can show I've passed at least half the courses, as well as a full time job when I recieve my graduating certifacate!
I'm so excited and can't wait to get back into the feild I love and being able to one day open my own salon!!! I just wanted to share with all!!!
