ALL politicians lie. Every. Single. Last. One. So, to quote some misinformation Biden may have said in his speech is moot...

I could EASILY rebuttal with Ryan's DNC speech which was full of lies as well... But, like I said, they all lie at one time or another. So saying you're not going to vote for such-and-such because "they lied" makes absolutely no sense at all.

Also, I will give it to Romney and Ryan... They know how to debate. But it's always the ignorant that have the biggest mouths and the intelligent who are full of doubts. I won't vote for someone based on speaking ability alone... They must have a moral character that agrees with mine. And Romney/Ryan do not have that character...not at all.

There is a nice old lady that lives in my building.. and she was talking to me about how she came to this country as an adult and has always been so excited to vote and be part of a country where voting takes place
She told me she is going to wear her special red, white and blue dress and head there early.. just made me smile :) and made me more excited to vote for the first time!

..not sure if i'll dress up though lol

Oh and speaking of I just got my voter registration thing today.

This will be my first time voting :) pretty exciting!
It IS pretty exciting! I am very glad you think so too Fran. I hope no matter what state things get into, what candidates you have to choose from, or how much work it is to figure out who's best for your vote through your whole life......remember this first time. The excitement. The importance. The responsibility. The privelege.

Trust me, it can be hard to keep in mind sometimes.

I do agree. They ALL lie.

But Biden was such a douche tonight, it just made me hate him. lol. Like I said, I went into both debates not really on a 'side' and very open, and not really liking either parties candidates. But Romney and Ryan showed a lot more professionalism and class IMO. And seemed to know a lot more about what they were talking about.

Both sides obviously lied or stretched the truth about some things. All politicians do. But overall, I just felt like Romney and Ryan were a lot more confident in what they were saying and more informed.

Ehhhh, I wouldn't quite say that about Romney. He repeatedly spoke over the moderator. But like I said, I do think the Republicans did well in the debates.

At this point in our history as Americans, gay marriage and abortion are distractions. Energy and the economy are far more important.

Right... And we saw what happened when Bush was in office. Why elect someone who agrees with Bush on 97% of policies?

Biden debated much better than Ryan. Yes, he talked over him (and called him on his bull crap) but Ryan also continuously kept going when his time was up and pretty much avoided all the main questions.

My favorite was when asked for specifics and he skirted around...the moderator said "so no specifics" and he still would not answer. Then she said, ok another math question lololol.

And no, as I talked about earlier, I will never sacrifice social issues. They are the root of us, they are who we are. The economy is VERY important as well but show me where Romney has actually given a plan...a WORKABLE plan. He talks about how he can fix it, and he says what the results will be, but its a pipe dream. He has no specific plan to get there...or at least he is not sharing it which means there is something to hide. The little bit we do know sounds pretty much like the republican status quo of the past administrations...oh yeah, those policies worked real well:rolleyes:

I would like to know what promises Obama has kept that he said he was going to do back in '08.

Because I seem to recall him making a LOT of promises.

I do believe Romney will do most of what he's claiming he will do... because he did it in MA (what he said he was going to do when elected). You can't really say it's a pipe dream without giving him a chance to try. If at the end of 4 years, he hasn't done anything he promised, then I won't vote for him again.

If we gave Bush 8 years to crash the economy... I think we can give Obama 8 to fix it.

Also, Obama only recently got control of the White House... Republican majority in the senate was not allowing him to pass a lot of his bills. However, he did get a lot done.

So the answer is raise taxes? Like Reagan?

Eh, I would argue that many of his policies are what set up the current mess....deregulate deregulate deregulate.

Trickle down does not work.
Obama is going to raise taxes, that is not dependent on the election, its going to happen. Its not going to help.

Regulate, regulate, regulate, is not the answer either, it only makes things more expensive.

We where still better under Reagan then under Obama.

If it took 4 years for Obama to get control of the White House he needs to go. He started out with a Dem majority.
