Thanks, she is a sweetie. She barely ever barks, and pounces on her tennis ball when I throw it for her.:lol-sign:

Definitely no Toller. Lots of dogs have markings similar to your girl... there isn't anything about her that says Toller at all, IMO. My best guess would probably be Lab/Border Collie, based on other dogs of that mix that I've seen. But it's hard to tell, really. Loads of different Lab mixes look similar to her. She's very cute whatever she might be. :)

Those markings are very common. When dogs express white, the first places to be white are the tail tip, chest, and toe tips. Then it works its way up, usually leaving the most color along the spine and head. Long story short if a dog has that little amount of white on it, it'll most likely have very similar markings to that.

I think she's a lab mix. With what though, I'm not sure.

I kow she's a lab mix, I just asked what other thing she is! (no offense)
If she was a border collie mix I would think she'd have longer hair and a tad bit of herding in her, which she doesn't have either.:yikes:

"Collie" doesnt nessisarily mean a BC. She could be a rough or smooth collie mix. Her hair could be from the lab part. With a mix you never know if you are going to get more one breed than the other or half way. Her lack of herding could be the lab comming out.

Her lack of herding and being a "scardey cat" doesn't rule out her being part border collie. Some herding dogs can be on the skittish side if not properly bred/socialized. Also, border collies DO come in a short coat too.

I'm pretty sure there's more than one breed mixed in your girl, but I'm 100% sure that Toller is not included in that list.

I think you have a wonderfully sweet, generic black dog. :)

this.

She seems lovely! my neighbor had a girl that looked just like her even size wise and she was a lab mixed with another lab mix lol so who knows. its hard to really know with mix doggy genetics

lol I usually just go with "Oh, hes a one of a kind original" lol

I see absolutely no Toller in her.
She could be part border collie. Border collies come in a variety of coat patterns and lengths. I have a border collie mix with a relatively short coat.

There are many, many breeds that can combine with the lab (that I definitely see) to give you the look of your dog.

I know a dog that looks a lot like her. She's a mix of several different breeds- lab, bulldog, border collie, cocker spaniel, pointer, and probably more.

What's you've got, as Zoom said, is a an adorable generic mix.

Why is it such a big deal that you know exactly what she is? She's adorable and is your typical little black dog. I have an LBD of my own, and it's not a big deal that I don't know exactly what he is.

The DNA testing is very inaccurate, by the way. Do a search on here for threads about it before you go to the vet - IMO, they're a waste of money.

A dog's DNA contains nothing about what breeds it is. DNA tests are a gimmick and a waste of money.

My best guess is lab/BC, like many others. I've seen a bunch of lab/BC mixes that look just like your girl. She's a very cute black dog, simple as that!

If I were you I wouldn't waste my money on those DNA tests. They end up with the most outrageously inaccurate results.

My advice is just to love your dog and know you have an adorable little black mutt.

Wups, a friend suggested it so I was gonna ask the vet what he thought, thanks for saving me from embarrassing myself!
It's not that I won't love her because I don't know what else she is, I think she'd blow up if I loved her anymore! I'm not trying to make a big deal out of this, I was just curious as to what she is. I think she's probably a Border Collie now too.
Aw! A beagle? I love beagle's soo much, but I haven't been able to get one :(

I see Lab. That's it. Labs can have white. :)

I see no Border Collie...or Toller.

Just to clarify, no one said she was purebred border collie. :p
Jen, I agree, she doesn't have any BC features that stand out, but she does look like many of the combination of BC and lab I've seen.
