My parents have two yorkies who have been vomiting and had the runs. They brought them to the vet and it turns out that they have an infection. Sadie,(the one on the right didn't make it as of yesterday) and Lucy, (the one on the left) is not eating or drinking. My parents are devistated from the loss of their baby she was only 2 lbs and not even a year old yet so I'm helping them out and trying to get their last dog better. I've gotten her to start eating Gerber baby second foods which is working great but she won't drink water. We have tried Pedialyte but she won't drink that either. She seemed to stop vomiting today but I need some creative tips on how to get fluids down this dog! We have been deluting her baby food to trick her but I know there are a lot of experts out there so I thought I'd ask if anyone has any ideas. Thanks!

It's a good idea to add the pedialyte to her food if she'll eat it. Try to get her to eat anything even if it's hotdogs! If worse comes to worse use a syringe to get food/water into her but don't put her on her back to do it - she could choke.

I hope she feels better!

What type of infection? Do you remember what it was called, and what part of the body is affected?

If you don't have a syringe, you can dip a handkerchief or part of a towel into the pedilyte and then squeeze it into the dog's mouth. Or maybe something with an ice cube?

I know that they said something about pancreitus (spelled wrong) and they found an infection by checking her poo. Not totally sure what type of infection though.
