Good lord. This is one SICK person. Wonder what he does to his kids?

Oh, and the person who said it was over-reacting to punish this guy is also out of touch with reality---or at least with humane-ity.

Considering that's basically what he did to the dog, that seems fair to me.

Oh, wait, I'm not supposed to say that . . . rule of law and all . . . nevermind . . .where are the paintballs?

That makes me sooo  especially when I stop to think about it. I wonder how many dogs this type of crap happens to and we never know about it.

There are some really cruel SOBs out there

As far as punishment....I will recommend one that my grand dad used to talk about.

They should slit his bag, run his leg through it and then chase him down the road!

Shocking... what people will do for "entertainment"

No word in the English language can express how deplorable his actions were. Such people should be banned forever from having a dog again. It's good that he went to jail for 6 months and was fined. He should also spend that time in a dog kennel doing cleanups.

Plus, he definitely needs some anger management treatments himself. If the dog bit him once and he got that upset, he's the one with the problem, not the dog.

Dogs learn from their owners. It wouldn't surprise me if the owner caused the dog to bite in the first place simply by his treatment of him. Why do such people even get dogs, other than to "control" something.

I agree... this man is dangerous - because if he'd treat a dog so severely, he's sure to be equally if not more threatening to humans. Heaven forbid anyone who lives with him or gets close to him.

There is no excuse for him. He hasn't learned how to train his dog properly and probably doesn't care to learn. He has no idea how to handle such situations so they do not recur. His method does absolutely nothing but put fear into the dog. But then, that clearly was his intention all along.
