I can finally see why people believe that pit bulls are plotting the death of their owners. I've been embarrassed by Kai many many times before, but this is too much.
So here I am, on Christmas Eve, walking Kai as early as possible since I have to do my Christmas shopping later( yeah, who cares of you all did it earlier). It is a good day, the sun is shining, the wind blowing softly, people coming out of there houses greeting their arriving family members. You can feel the holiday in the air!
Now, I got to tell you a bit about Kai. He does these on-leash zoomies ever time we are heading back toward the apartments. It isn't like he yanks me around or anything. He just zooms at the end of thew leash in circles around me so it kinda looks like someone training a horse and the horse just circles the person, just like that, but really fast.
So he does it and it is really funny looking, you know, a dog running making circles around the owner with a crazed look on its face. So there are people outside going to and fro from the house to the car, and they stop and watch and laugh along with me.
SO just when I thought he was done, I take one step. Not two steps, not three steps, but just ONE step! Right where I stepped, the leash strategically appears below my foot. And RIGHT as I stepped on that leash, Kai suddenly got the case of the zoomies and jerks forward with all his might. Here I go, my one foot began jerk forward, my hands going everywhere, right to the hard, wet ground. The people watching just bursting into hysterical laughter as I try to get up and collect all my dignity. Now Kai, he is just licking me like, '' man, what happen to YOU, are you okay'' but I knew, I knew deep in my heart that he did that on purpose. If dogs could smirk, he would have been smirking.
I apologize to the pit bull community for this. I had unintentionally put truth to the myth that pit bulls are plotting every minute. That image will probably always be sketched into the brains of those poor citizens who had to see the truth in that very Christmas eve morning.
