hey guys...
casey is 6 months old...shes doing well with housebreaking during the day...
i cant crate her so i keep her gated in the kitchen and she has no accidents during the day...does her business outside...
HOWEVER.. she will NOT relieve herself when i take her out before bed..
instead she becomes so hyped-up... i guess because of the dark...perhaps racoons...whatever...
that she will not even try to 'go potty'...
then the minute we get inside and shes not being watched she goes to the bathroom...
seems that some nights she relieves herself 3 or 4 times...combo of pee & poop...
how can i get her to go to the bathroom outside before bed?

Train her to go on command.

Every time she pees, say something like, "good piddles" and treat her. Same with poop if you'd like. Eventually you'll work up to just giving the command "piddles" and her doing her thing. When we started out with Buddy he was on a leash until he did his business and then he got his treat and free time in the yard, but that was only until after he did what we wanted.

It's a Godsend on vacations...
