hello all.

found this forum while searching google for training tips. Very interesting so far.

This past week I've added two pitbull puppies to the family of 1 12year old Dobie, 3 cats and 3 human children.... it's been a while since I've had to train something that will actually listen to me

lol so far, only one of the cats has been brave enough to even walk into the kitchen, and that's only been for a quick pass through while the babies were sleeping. This is the first time that any of them have had to deal with a puppy, forget two! I figure that once I can break them of the nipping playing that the cats will settle in.

The Dobie was a rescue that I adopted when he was 9 and he had lived with other dogs before hand, so I wasn't expecting any problems from him. He's been great. Lots of sniffing and a little skittish with these little creatures bouncing around that don't even reach half of his leg size :lol: There's only been one incident with the pups biting him, and that was yesterday. He made it very clear to them that he wasn't going to have any of that! He barked so loud that hubby heard him in the workshop over the tablesaw.

Dobies are my very favorite breed. Such smart kids they are!
